the essential content of the emails is an accurate representation of apple's position (minus the working on it part) so i dont see what it matters

this reception issue is a huge conspiracy between all the gadget blogs to keep page views up post launch. The blog sites are raking in the cash with all this BS.

I wish Apple was as quick at responding to the reception issue people are having as they are to debunk fake e-mails. It's taken them 1 day to reply to that, and it's already been a week and still no official statement aside from a few silly e-mails from Steve.

Well, those of us that ACTUALLY OWN an iP4 understand that something is forthcoming. The rest of you, well, you really don't matter.

I had the feeling it could have been fake, but it also wasn't an unbelievable step from his last abrupt answer to someone over the iPhone problem.

Now that Apple is a roaring success, a major force, all the little people flying around are aiming for that Bismarck. I'd still buy Apple: customer service is the best I ever knew from any company... as long as I don't have to talk to the very top guy.

Aren't you a snobbish one? Ever stop to think that some of us actually might be on a waiting list? No need to clinch your rectum so tight that it cuts the blood flow to your brain.

I'm gad that you may not be having an issue, but as far as someone like me who is getting an iPhone 4 this month is concerned, I'm apprehensive about the matter.

I get about 3 bars on my 3GS here at home. According to Apple princesses like you, "You don't have to worry if you have a good signal".

So yes, I AM apprehensive and YES I do wish Apple would make some kind of official statement at least acknowledging that they're looking into it or something as quick as they are to debunk fake e-mails.

Move along now.

P.S. You must be a descent of Laurens Hammond with that kind of attitude.

Not Cool at All!

As a stockholder, I have watched the price drop over 20 points in the last couple of days. I know the markets are sucking wind, but BS like this makes it to the financial headlines, like it did today and doesn't help with the perception of the company or its leadership. Very irresponsible. I am pissed.

This wasn't fake. This is just Apple's damage control.

So the choices are:

1) A CEO of a company as large and successful as Apple sends out emails stating such things as "Calm down", and, "It's just a phone", when referring to said companies flagship product.

2) Some spare guy, in advertising of all things, makes up a story to score a quick buck and have his 15 minutes of fame.

Between those you're going with option #1 eh? Really?

Well son, if I was in your shoes and had the concerns you have, I'd cancel my order. Cancel it, and sleep better.

All techs, including Apple, Dell, MS, etc., are down 1 - 1.5%.

Yes, just as I'm sure if you can't deal with whatever issues you'll have, you'll return your phone.

It's always funny to see fanboys get their panties in a wad.

Yes...I knew they were BS, as did most rational people on here...you know the people who have been laughing at the cliffjumpers, lawsuit seekers and other hysterical whackos.

It is one thing to wonder if ones phone has a reception problem but the majority of you guys have been so over the top spewing vitriol and making this place a nightmare.

Now it is coming back in your face...be man enough to own it. Unfortunately that is not in your character.

i truly misunderstood your wisdom good sir. your sagacity stretches so far that you are able to know about my character too! oh please accept my humble admiration.

You own a 3G, you have a iP4 on order, and what's that about fanboys?

I received my original iP4 on the 23rd, preorder. I returned it to the local Apple Store this past Tuesday as I had the yellow spots on the Retina Display. New phone is perfect.

Reception? I can duplicate the signal drop, from 5 full bars down to 2. However, there is no loss of call quality with the 2 bars, none. And I have not experienced any dropped calls.

Clearly you are doing it wrong (TM) ;)

Dear Macrumors,

we got trolled and we deserved it.

I know how easy it is to fake something like this, but didn't even think about it until now.
