Well... I was keeping the faith, until I woke up at 5am and checked e-mail for a shipping confirmation... nothing... checked my order status on apple.com... still "Prepared for Shipment."

Hopefully that status will change to "Shipped" today and it will go out like all of the VZ orders for delivery Monday.

I have to say, this is the first time I have purchased ANYTHING from Apple. I chose to do so from Apple vs. VZ because of their reputation for incredible customer service. Although they have the best coverage and signal, customer service at VZ is about the worst I have ever experienced. So ordering from Apple over VZ was a no brainer. If it turns out that Apple holds these orders while VZ is shipping them, I'll be a little upset.

Ordered around 3:10am. Still says "prepared for shipment" and my discovercard doesn't show any charges from apple. I sold my 3GS yesterday on CL so I"m smartphoneless until it comes...i'm slowly dying..

Hmm... it seems as though no iPhones have been shipped by Apple yet. Come on Apple!

Just called my credit card company and they show pending charges for the 2 iPhones I ordered. Apple site still shows prepared for shipment.

I used Chrome.

On the shipping page, if you selected ship to a business address, the CSS for the business name field rendered it invisible in Chrome. It was a required field.

So, who wants to be the first to call/chat with Apple and find out when they're shipping? ;-)

They won't. Come Monday, all those people who thought they were getting their phones today and then had that changed to Monday, will have it changed to Weds or Thursday (the 9th or 10th - TADA!).

And the people who go to the facility to pick it up, thats near their home that it has already arrived at... What excuse you got for why they won't get it?

I just got off the phone with customer service at Apple. Here's what I was told:

- All of these phones, shipping from Verizon or Apple are going to deliver the same day
- Apple and Verizon have coordinated w/ shippers to make it so
- UPS and Fed Ex may have been instructed to hold the shipments so they won't be delivered until the 9th or 10th.
- Apple's shipments are in the US, and they have warehouses all around the country
- For launches like this they pretty much ship 24/7 so shipment status and tracking information could be updated at any time.

I really don't believe the part about all being delivered on the 9th or 10th. Seems like all of those Verizon tracking numbers are legitimately going to be delivered Monday. I've got my fingers crossed for shipment status to be updated overnight. I still haven't seen the charge on my credit card - just the authorization.

Glad to see I'm not the only one still sitting on a pending charge. Although I just checked the statements between Apple and my bank and I was charged a full penny less than the actual amount. I'm just waiting for the phone call over one whole cent.

When I pre-ordered a Harry Potter book before, it shipped a week early and initially told me it would be delivered like 4 days early, then when it got to the hub, it sat there until the release date. Its a service both UPS and FedEx offer; holding a package until a specified time.

Simple. Because you CANNOT pick up at the facility until the carrier makes at least one delivery attempt. And they're not going to make a delivery attempt until the 9th or 10th. Use some common sense and learn the facts. Done. Now lets move on.

The 2 posts above are based in reality.

Really, I can dig that everyone loves a good mystery but, it PROBABLY isn't going to happen. Would I LOVE to see my iPhone arrive on Monday or Tuesday? Sure I would but, seriously people just like to get let down I guess by getting all excited when they know the truth in the back of their heads.

This is the way all Apple releases are shipped and even many other pre-releases like video games, etc. Everyone should know this by now. Make up any excuse you want like "OMG, OMG, OMG, OH this isn't a new release", yes, it is. Launch date of 2/10/11 as existing customers we had a chance to guarantee ourselves a device on LAUNCH DAY by pre-ordering. We didn't get a guarantee of receiving it a week earlier.

How many people who posted yesterday "OMG MY PHONE WILL BE HERE TOMORROW!!!!" have gotten their phone? None. On Monday it'll be the same thing- a new "WHO GOT THEIR PHONE"" thread. And on and on and on.

Think about it, who are you going to trust more with an accurate delivery date? Apple or frigging Verizon? You think for one second that Apple is going to let Verizon have their orders arrive before theirs?

I think they'll arrive before the 10th. Hell, Apple could still ship ours tonight or tomorrow overnight and have them out by Monday. But I think its more likely that they'll ship for Tuesday or Wednesday.

I figured that they would be held for a 2/10 delivery, kind of like the iPad. I would like to see them get delivered early but, I do not want to see one beat the other.

Actually, I'm trusting FedEx for the accuracy of my delivery time. The fact here is that Verizon decided to ship early with out putting a hold till the tenth. When I previously ordered things that release on a specific date, I can track it, but even when it arrives at the local hub DAYS in advance, the delivery date will say the official release date (in this case 2/10/11).

This is not the same case we are seeing with VerizonWireless.com pre-orders. Across the board many of us have tracking numbers that indicate delivery before 3pm on Monday. Followed by an e-mail from Verizon stating that my delivery may come BEFORE the tenth.

Whether they cleared it with Apple or not, I don't know. Perhaps Verizon was selfishly thinking of themselves and wanted to spread all the phone activations over the entire week instead of just Thursday and the weekend beyond.

It shipped! It shipped! I got my confirmation!

Shenzhen, China 02/05/2011 9:57 A.M. Origin Scan
China 02/05/2011 10:31 P.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

Ok, just did some further research. I'm assuming it actually shipped on the 4th. Even so, UPS's website itself when I just go to get a time in transit from Shenzhen to my zip code via Worldwide Express that it will arrive Tuesday by 10:30am.

All I know is that Verizon pre-orders have shipped and tracking #'s have been provided. UPS is telling me that the iPhone 4 is already in the same state as I reside in and that it will be delivered to my doorstep on Feb 7, 2011 before the end of the day.

When I plug in a shipping date of the 2/3, 2/4, or 2/5, it still tells me the cutoff is Monday to get it there by Tuesday. It could actually be Monday and they're just assuming I missed the cutoff for their shipping automatically. I'll be watching and post when it has a delivery date.
