Better be that than a advertising company (Google), or an expensive explosives company (Samsung)

Does bashing Samsung over one product fail make you feel much Better? Now that's apple courage ;) careful what goes around comes around...

Fyi: Google/Samsung origins were search and trading company.

I did not agree with the decision to remove the 3.5 mm jack. I would however, thought that Apple, having made a courageous decision, would have made it an absolute certainty that there would be zero issues with the ear pods. These rookie mistakes, failure of quality control and lack of accountability is worrisome. I expected better from Apple.
Yeah if you gonna make a mistake, make it a big one. No rookie mistakes at Samsung, they just plane blow the phone up........Now that's a BIG mistake.

They didn't drop the analog port across their entire product line. Apple still sells the iPhone SE and the iPhone 6S.
That isn't what I said. I meant that they haven't integrated the lightning standard on any non-iOS device. They haven't integrated the standard across their product line. The Macbook has a $%&*ing USB type C port.

Doesn't appear to happen with the adapter in that port...my old floppy disk drive works just fine, guess we shouldn't have moved on there either?

I have lost track how many times the cultist, fanboys, and zealots desperately and cluelessly compared the removal of the headphone jack to the removal of the floppy disk.

Floppy disks were removed due to increased files size and storage increases.

Lightning and Bluetooth add nothing what so ever to audio quality and in most cases provide an inferior experience with dropouts, connection problems, dead batteries, interference, and latency/sync issues.

If Apple made cars:

"The steering wheel won't turn left."

Macrumors responders:

"Why don't you just make right turns?"

Very much this.

There is a large group of people on these forums for whom it is unthinkable that Apple would do anything wrong. It's always the users fault and the users should go buy products from Samsung instead of complaining.

And, as far as your prediction that the 3.5mm jack will be around for another 100 years, you'll be in good company for the bad predictions hall of fame. But don't worry, you will be in good company:

"In 1977, Ken Olson the founder of Digital Equipment Corp (DEC) was quoted as saying, "There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home."
Ken Olson was right, but not in the way he thought. I keep my computer in my pocket. It's only home when I am. :D

Huh? What makes you think they aren't? This is from the Apple Lightning EarPods webpage compatibility section:

iPhone Models

iPad Models

iPod Models
Because, instead of assuming, I actually asked them on release day .. fact checking isn't what it used to be anymore.

What?! It this really true? Bad Apple! I was going to use them for my iPad Air 2. ***** **** **** ***************

Complete lie. These forums gone to crap. There is no moderation, you can tell by some of the insults. There's a even larger group of trolls and Apple haters. Nobody here is blaming the users for anything. It just a bunch of whining.

I guess this glitch is their way of getting us ready for Airpods, which have no playback controls.

Seriously though, I find it funny that they say that we shouldn't be tethered by wires, but we would have to take our phone out of our pocket if we want to skip tracks.

Great question. Possibly something to do with the port itself (on the 7) being different?

He's asking why the lightning earbuds don't work on prior models.
Nah, I didn't want to assume the other day that I could or couldn't. And decided to ask their live chat, which told me it wasn't possible, iPhone 7 or 7plus only.. Their bad became my bad. Glad I can use it on my iPhone 6s+ !! No reason to upgrade now, I guess.

You do realize Apple was not the only company to remove the 3.5 port on a cellphone? They weren't even the first and most likely will not be the last.

But with Android, you simply pick a different phone to buy. With apple, you are stuck, silly!

I am pretty sure the people who were in favour of keeping the floppy disk felt the same way back then as well.

The change from floppy disk to cd had major advantages such as increased storage and bigger file sizes. The removal of the head jack does nothing comparable to the removal of the floppy disk despite what the kook aid drinking cultust fanboys try to claim.
