My iPhone 16 Pro Max lock sound is inconsistent. Sometimes it's the full audio sometimes it's not. Also, it just happened last night, I was lowering the volume while in Spotify and it lowered it all the way down after pressing the volume rocker twice.

This is why I haven't switched over from my old iPhone 12 to my new iPhone 16 Plus. I'm waiting for the iOS 18.0.1 update--which might be out as early as tomorrow (please?).

When they say an update is a minor or major they’re not referring to the issues it addresses. A minor update could fix a critical zero day vulnerability. It’s referring to how many things are changing.
My comment was referring to the double entendre that minor is:

1. The number of changes in the update; or,
2. The severity of the fixes provided by the update.

It's a dig at Apple for their inability to identify critical failures before going to general release with their software. A dig that is rightly deserved.

Not sure if it is iOS 18 or a combination of that with transfer of data to my new iPhone 16… but stickers from photos in iMessage is broken. Image/sticker disappears after a couple of seconds and cannot be used. I see others experiencing the same.

It’s kinda odd that I see so many small details on iOS 18 that reflects Apple is not testing their software as they did in the past. A lot of design imperfections as well.

Can you back up your claim with some screenshots? I"m running iOS 18 on my 13 Pro and not seeing any artifacts or lack of testing. Working llike a charm, and was blown away by how quickly it installed!

Smooth sailing here.

I’m torn. Part of me would like to stay on iOS 17.7. On the other hand, I’d like RCS in Messages - but almost nothing else in iOS 18.

iPhone 13 Pro updated to iOS 18 and running like a champ. New features are barely noticeable in terms of incremental changes. RCS messaging is super awesome!

Here is hoping this restores the ability to be installed to the M4 iPad Pro... which has lacked the ability to be updated to iPadOS 18.0 for 1.5 weeks now! This is unprecedented in the history of iOS and iPadOS releases and almost nothing is being said about the flagship iPad product and just what the heck is going on....
Since there isn’t any AI in 18.0, what is the big deal with staying on 17.7 For a few weeks?

The battery life has noticeably gone worse on my 13 Mini since I updated to iOS 17.7, so I'm thinking about upgrading. Although, I'm still hesitant to make the jump just yet…
Using it on my iPhone 13 mini for about a week now and haven’t had any issues with the battery. However, I did get a couple of glitches when trying to use the camera directly from the Lock Screen. I haven’t been able to reproduce the glitches, but they did happen a few times. Aside from that, all is good

Yeah that's me too - I basically just want RCS support and could care less about any of the other new iOS 18 features. I've been sticking with 17.7 for the time being but the bug report with 18 don't seem too bad compared to a lot of other X.0 releases so maybe I'll upgrade with 18.0.1 instead of waiting it out until the X.1 release like usual.

Maybe you should apply for a job with them. I’m not knowledgeable about programming but if you can do better then everyone would appreciate it. I bet the pay would be substantial as well.

Just had this install on my 16 Pro Max. Not sure if this is the update in question or something else?

No, this is the update I and probably most of us with iPhone 16s installed back on Friday when the phones came out.

Apple appears to be internally testing iOS 18.0.1 for the iPhone, based on evidence of the software update in our website's analytics this week. Our logs have accurately revealed many iOS versions before they were released.

We expect iOS 18.0.1 to be a minor update focused on bug fixes. Issues that could be addressed with the update include touchscreen issues affecting the iPhone 16 series and some older models, an iMessage bug where a shared Apple Watch face can cause the app to repeatedly crash, and iPadOS 18 bricking some iPad Pro units with the M4 chip.

It is unclear when iOS 18.0.1 will be released, but our best guess is the update will be available towards the end of next week at the latest.

iOS 18.0.1 will precede iOS 18.1, which Apple previously announced will be released in October. Already available in beta, iOS 18.1 includes the first Apple Intelligence features for the iPhone, including writing tools, notification summaries, and more. Apple Intelligence is available on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and any iPhone 16 model.

Hope it fixes Podcast, can stop it from, continuous playback. Checked settings and restarted, no luck.

I've gone back to 17.7 and 14.7 today.

15.0 is plagued with awful stuttering and keyboard / trackpad lag. Couldn't bond with the photos app either. Rollback was smooth enough. Not really interested in Apple Intelligence so I'll stay where I am now until they release a stable version of 15.0. Rolled back the phone just so both devices are on versions that play nicely together.

Can't help feeling 15.0 was rushed to release, whilst 15.1 was getting all the attention behind doors.

I would be willing to risk updating to 18.0.1 if Apple would go back to the old Photos app. The new app reminds me of the App Library - organized according to how someone or something at Apple internalizes things. But certainly not the way I do - nor the way many others do, judging by the many posts on MR.
