Hope they fix "Typing "s" in iPhone spotlight Search bar causes it to crash the search" - rebooting makes it work for a few minutes, Some issue with indexing apparently caused by having Spanish and Spanish English dictionaries enabled. More here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255768229?sortBy=rank
Ah, it’s not only me! I have Spanish, English, Italian and German keyboards enabled. Pressing s in spotlight, crashes it after a fraction of a second. But if you are quick enough and type another letter after the s, it works. Weird.

Edit: my device is not new, it is an iPhone 11 Pro Max.

It’s happening to me too! Pressing s crashes spotlight search.

Another nasty bug I experience is that outlook.com does not work well from the web browsers (Safari, Firefox…).
Opening attachments or replying to emails make it enter an infinite redirect loop that eventually returns an error message.
I use it for work and it is annoying…

This bug has been reported already:

"Several Bugs"... Why is it that every time an iOS x.0 or macOS x.0 is released, so many people say there are no bugs and everything is fine? I wonder if they are Apple apologists who intentionally downplay Tim Cook's major lack of concern for software quality control.
Delusional people. Or people that use iPhone to scroll on tiktok

I’m running iOS 18 and my phone shows that there is an update available. But it doesn’t specifically say it is 18.0.1. Is that what this update is?

In iOS 17 and earlier it would always show the version number. Have they changed that?

I’m not part of the beta program.

The dark icones in settings and widget when you are in dark mode should be fixed. They should match the color of the icon on the home screen.

Here is hoping this restores the ability to be installed to the M4 iPad Pro... which has lacked the ability to be updated to iPadOS 18.0 for 1.5 weeks now! This is unprecedented in the history of iOS and iPadOS releases and almost nothing is being said about the flagship iPad product and just what the heck is going on....
This one year update cycle is making things worse and worse.
I think it's just too much development, between all the operative systems.

I have been using macOS since Snow Leopard, and iOS since 13, but I'm noticing more bugs and problems with each new release...and I don't even jump on the .0 versions, right away.

Bugs can be grouped into different categories and they are not all the same. For example from some display glitch to losing notes documents. Many people don’t encounter or even notice some bugs. That’s my opinion on why so many people say everything is fine.

Couple of responses. The aspersers intentionally flame the situation or the posters who downplay are either Apple plants or shareholders. Must be the case. Right? /s

While I have no phone breaking bugs, Music app was set back years in terms of quality. Can’t remember which update it was, I think maybe 14, but there was an update that introduced Bluetooth bugs. Well, they are back. Bluetooth on my car system, earbuds, and TV is cutting out fairly consistently. Using my DAC on my iPad cuts out as well. Overall I like 18 with some major QoL improvements but Music was botched.

Really hope this addresses the keyboard lag. My 16PM is borderline unusable with all the lag. My 15PM might be worse. Other little things like when you choose a contact in share sheet to message an image to, the cursor goes up into the type a contact field when it should just stay in the message subject, since you've already chose the contact you're sending the image to. Little things like this, stickers going missing (all my stickers are just gone now), general wonkiness, it's a terrible release. It's the first time I regret upgrading. That being said, my battery life has been crazy good.

I have the same thing. I am surprised more people have not commented on this.

The battery life has noticeably gone worse on my 13 Mini since I updated to iOS 17.7, so I'm thinking about upgrading. Although, I'm still hesitant to make the jump just yet…
My 13's battery health has dropped to 81%, so obviously my battery life is gonna be worse. I'm on 18.0, but my battery life seems similar to what it was when I was on 17.

What's your current battery health on your Mini?

95%. I’ve reinstalled 17.7 via DFU and restored my back up. If it doesn’t improve then I’ll start fresh to see if it gets any better, if not then I guess I’ll bite the bullet and join 18.0 crowd.

Well, it’s not like they put many new features between main releases. Other OS would just call them patches…

I noticed this as well. At first I thought it was the touch issues people are reporting, but it’s just very bad lag. Like it’s doing way more spelling/grammar processing with every key press.
