So - any speculation as to why this event is on a Wednesday instead of a Tuesday?

Every Apple media event has been on a Tuesday (unless the prior Monday was a holiday.)

Maybe there was some event this weekend there and it didn't give Apple enough time to do what they need to do???

All I know is, Jobs better take the stage to Aerosmith's Big Ten Inch. :D

Apple Shares Halted

CNBC RT just reported that Apples Shares have been halted pending news :D

Expected? This makes it sound like a possibility. Considering the invite says "Come see our latest creation", I believe it's a fact, not an expectation. :)

True but it's journalism-speak. Like "allegedly dude X killed dude Y while doing Z". There's a ton of evidence but until it's proven you still have to say "allegedly".

They could have a power outage and nothing happens Wednesday. Who knows?

It is for renting a place, but Apple gets every penny back when Apple gets free PR from the press and increase hype about the iProducts, so the money they spend on the event are gonna come back within a week of launch of the new product. So its a win win.:apple:

a WEEK? haha more like they've already been making enough money from press with this tablet ALREADY.....

I'm a total Luddite when it comes to books, I love the paper ones, so at the moment the idea of a tablet from Apple doesn't interest me, though I'm sure it will be nice.

But I am in the market for a MPB in the next two months so a laptop refresh announcement would really make my day!

I'll be following the live coverage.

Keeping awake

I am going to be awake until Prophet Steve Jobs finishes his State of the Earth address.;)

I'm still amazed that in this day in age, Apple doesn't have a video feed covering these events. And if not a public feed, then at least a broadcast going to their stores so that interested people, press, even apples own retail employees, have some way of seeing this and knowing what's going on.

What a missed PR opportunity. Having to keep up with friggin text updates... it's like getting your news by friggin telegraph.

And the stuff that's available that day could start selling right then and there, after the event (during the music that closes the show).

Will we get one of the famous elevator shots that we have had in the past?
For now it looks empty:(

<elevator image>

Just got this from my friend's cousin's dad who works at Apple R&D...

Real photo of the apple tablet / islate / ipad (with bigfoot!)

=)

Who reads books? Anyway, those who do can keep enjoying them - I think the pad is more for newspaper / magazine consumption.

..and enjoy your upcoming i5 ;)

'Leaked' commercial

The branding would match the alleged 'leaked' commercial on Huffington Post.
