the colorful dots remind me of the ipad 1 event, last january.

LOL nice pic from gizmodo, doubt they will be there tomorrow ;)

Lion will be under wrap until WWDC 2011. This event will be most likely for iOS 5.0 and iPad 2.

+1

Though to be honest Apple seems to be all over the map with the rumors about the MBP's for tomorrow... my thoughts are that Apple and Intel will announce Thunderbolt/Light Peak on the 2nd... along with an iPad that has the Thunderbolt port....

Unless Apple has plans for the iPad that makes Thunderbolt the end all be all for tablet devices and computers as we know it...

100% straight apple.com refresh...unless everyone is fooled and this 3/2 event is MBP.

The latter would be my preference, really. I like it when Steve come up and introduces Apple products. To all those who think Steve is in serious medical danger, he's not!! He met with the president last week and I expect him to be on the stage March 2nd. And to be honest, I'm on the edge of my seat.

Let me recap my favorite, seeming LEGITIMATE rumors:

  • A Photobooth Application Appearing on the iPad's homescreen in iOS 4.3 software files
  • Front and Rear Facing Cameras... the latter being a maybe...
  • A Better speaker... not the stupid mockup versions
  • Thunderbolt (Light Peak) Implimentation as Implied by a "Mystery Port" on the top of an iPad 2nd Genaration Case
  • Thinner... seems to me it's thin enough but I trust Apple to keep a High Quality Product
  • Lighter... this is a must for me, even if it's only slight
  • A better battery... although I don't see a real need
  • And finally, A higher resolution display... this one can't be classified as legitimate, but it doesn't hurt to wish

But the best of all is a better processor with more memory. This would be my first reason to get an iPad 2nd genaration. It would make the iPad more capable of simple video editing like the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4 genaration, and quite easily eat the current iPhone with it's rumored duo core processor. In my opinion, we have much to look forward to.

I have been getting loads of e-mails from apple saying to renew my developer profile. It expires in over a month but they really want me to renew it. It probably has nothing to do with it but I hope thins means iOS 5.

You're probably getting email reminding you to renew your iOS Developer Program membership. It happens every year.

what if those shipments that are headed to stores that apple warned "not to open or anything until further instructions" really were the ipad 2? after all, we have more legitimate, tangible proof of the ipad 2 refresh than we do of the macbook pro, right?

Assuming that the macbook pro update is happening tomorrow, then at the rate things are going there will be absolutely no keynote. What will happen is one hour tomorrow you will check apple.com/.ca and see "BAM new macbook pro front page.

This is what I expect, its what they did for the i5/i7 introduction.

Probably a Quicktime video featuring Johnny Ive, Phil Schiller and that other young guy with the obnoxious face.

Edit: I remembered! It's Scott Forstall

For those of you who think this event will have any iOS 5 annoucements, I have my doubts. I would expect to see at least 2 beta version before a release. However, an iOS 5 preview would be VERY probable.

So look at the Apple logo. Looks kinda like the black plastic that is set in the back of the current iPad.

The colorful dots are related to iOS 5.
