I’m waiting for bug free systems and application software from Apple.
Windows and Microsoft software updated just as often these days and still buggy as well.
That's nature of releases these days...

What are the chances of AirPower being introduced in 2023-2024?

I'm sick of waiting for a proper replacement for my 2017 iMac, so I guess Apple won. I'm buying a Studio Display and a Mac Mini. I tried the Dell 27" 4K monitor for a while, but the scaling issues are terrible, and the image quality isn't anywhere near Apple's. I've waited for the Samsung Viewfinity S9, but I should have known better. Based on the first review, it also sucks.

The only question left: how much am I going to spend? The 2017 iMac was costly then, but I will surely break my personal record at the Apple Store. I just want a speedier machine, screen size is fine. You would expect that a similar, more up-to-date machine would be cheaper, but I need to spend hundreds of dollars more this round to get a similar setup.

A Mac Mini with 32GB of memory, a Studio Display, and an Apple keyboard and trackpad is now $3,646. Yes, it's faster than my current iMac, and I can reuse the display when I upgrade the Mac Mini in a few years, but holy ****, I've never spent so much money on a freaking computer.
Has the S9 been released? I haven't seen any reviews yet.

In 4 years, instead of having to spend 3000 again for a full iMac, you will only have to spend like 1500 or so on another Mac Mini since you already have a good monitor. I think that the Mac Mini / Mac Studio + a display is a better solution.

Substantial updates to the Mac lineup will launch starting later this year or in early 2024, encompassing new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips, a refreshed 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M3 chip, two new MacBook Air models, and new 24-inch iMac models. In addition, Apple is said to be "conducting early work" on an all-new iMac model with a display larger than 30 inches in size.
2 new M3 MacBook Air models - interesting - it's for me!

It's worth waiting for, knew it!
I'm not in despair, my MBA do what I need it to. I just want to get rid of the intel noice 😉

In nyc I see AirPods Max very often

On college campuses as well. That, or really convincing knockoffs.

As far as the 13" Pro goes, yes, it has an outdated design, but there's a large contingent of kids that get a MacBook for college as a High School graduation gift and spring for the Pro due to prestige or the implied higher performance. Keeping the 13 around provides a (relatively) affordable entry point to the "Pro" Apple ecosystem, and I'm sure that these M chips are produced at such a scale where the savings offset the cost of the minor changes made to the main logic board and other components needed to keep the new chip in the old 2016-era shell.

One other perk of the touch bar-it's the only remaining MacBook where you can easily adjust the keyboard brightness via reconfiguring the control strip. After the asinine changes to the F5 and F6 keys, the only way to regain this functionality on a new Air is to edit a .plist and deal with mismatched key icons. I never understood why they would push dictation and focus modes, both easily accessible in software, to the detriment of a useful hardware shortcut.

After switching to a 49”’wide screen I could never go back to anything smaller. A 30” iMac seems would seem to be overpriced for the screen real estate.

The work experience and usability is second to none in my ultra wide screen. I don’t need a super sharp res because I’m not doing video editing or anything along those lines.

Put me down for an Apple Watch Ultra 2. Glad to hear it is coming, I'm ready to upgrade.

iMac---meh the brand has become absolutely boring to me. After using my Ultra Wide Screen display
at work I see why UW is so popular. iMacs are out in my household. I'd rather go with a mini and UW display.

Not looking at iPads until next year for myself. Might nab a sale on the iPad mini for my sons. Not really feeling expensive iPads so the 2024 Air may be my next one.

Need the HomePod/Apple TV hybrid which to me is simply going to be a consumer conference like soundbar (though it'll probably be in a compact shape with a Facetime cam)

Where's our fooking replacement for the Airport routers Apple?

Laughing at everyone who is cheering the "Larger than 30" display" who, when its finally released, will recoil in horror at the $5000 price tag.
That's because the people who rant about a large screen iMac want one so they can fully emerse themselves in shows like Stranger Things. They'll end up buying a $117, 32-inch, 720p "smart tv".

I love the iMac. I’ve had so many over the years and was sad when the 27” went away. Though in fairness I’m quite happy with the modular setup of an M2 Mac mini + Studio Display.

I’m curious to see how they market a 30” iMac if it does come to fruition. Maybe it’ll be an iMac Pro with Pro & Max chips? Could be a nice lineup for the desktops once they’re all updated:

iMac w/M3
iMac Pro w/M3 Pro
iMac Pro w/M3 Max
Mac mini w/M3
Mac mini w/M3 Pro
Mac Studio w/M3 Max
Mac Studio w/M3 Ultra
Mac Pro w/M3 Ultra

"Refreshed 13" MBP"... Why are they still keeping this thing alive?

Probably for institutional / large volume corporate use. But yeah, looks bloody terrible in what is actually a nice MacBook lineup (13“ & 15” Airs, 14” & 16” Pros).

Becoming my experience. 30" display feel antiquated. Seriously mulling grabbing a 49" UW with two computer inputs so that I can connect both my Mac and my wife's and we can use the 49 in conjunction with our iPads in Universal control

Well, I think you misunderstood his intention. There is 13" Air and there is 14" MBP. There is zero reason to have 13" MBP too.
Unlike in your example where there is no bigger iMac and its only one model and only M variant (not Pro or Max).
Those that are used to 27" iMac which frankly was a better seller are of course craving for one.

Because people are buying it. Just like some want a big iMac, which is just as silly.

I don't want to be toxic but can someone explain to me why people give any sort of relevance to what Gurman said. He said just omega obvious/consensual things all the time.
I get this guy has a good network but what he said is just pointless
His audience is not primarily enthusiasts, it is investors, specifically traders. The kind of people who make a living reading a little bit about every industry and figuring out that putting some money on copper from a particular country is smart because company X is updating product Y and political instability is making their usual supply line more expensive. Or something.

Gurman could be 51% accurate and someone out there will bank millions on that margin. This is the industry that built a dedicated $300m fiber optic cable between NYC and Chicago to shave a few milliseconds off of commodity future trades.
