Something is off at Apple. Between the Apple Watch being banned (albeit temporarily) to having to pull beta releases, there seems to be something missing in their development and testing programs. Perhaps placing secrecy above all else wasn't such a great idea?

This is the reason why mosts people should not do a beta on a device they depend on. Ever since Tim Cook became the CEO, it has been a slow downward spiral in the reliability of all of Apple software (even with their beta software). Also new features would be promised, and be delayed. I really do think this is one of the reasons why Apple doesn't do live demos anymore. They fear of a public crash in the software. We have never seen Tim Cook do a demo (like Steve Jobs did in the past). I don't think we will ever see Tim do that, especially if it was a live demo....if the demo crashed, he won't know what to do. When we had Steve, if a crash happen at a demo (he had backups), and you knew the issue would be fixed before released (and some heads would be chopped off).

For all of the Macs, iPhones and iPads in the house, I have them set to auto-download updates but leave any OS installs set to manual. Watches and AppleTVs are the only devices set to auto-download and install as those devices are much less mission-critical than the others.

Full disclosure: I tend to manually download and install all updates before any of the pre-set automation kicks in. 🤪

You mean a shell of the company who released Mac OS X snow leopard with a bug that would erase an entire user’s home folder without warning?
Or how about a shell of the company that pulled a golden master of iOS 4.2 for totally disabling the Wi-Fi capabilities of the iPhone 4?
Or how about a shell of the company that released a version of iOS 8 that disabled cellular data and Touch ID?
And those are just software issues. I’ve had my share of egregious hardware problems over the years.

I feel like I have had nothing but trouble with iPhone since October. The Apple is rolling downhill!

So how do I proceed from here?? I am currently experiencing the boot loop and my phone can't do anything. I will periodically get the apple logo but thats about it.
This worked for me though try it at your own risk etc. Ensure you have at least 30GB free on your Mac to start.

1. Download the previous beta IPSW file for your device

2. Get Apple Configurator from the App Store.

3. Put your phone into recovery mode then plug it in when it prompts you to.

4. Open Apple Configurator and drag and drop the IPSW file onto your iPhone in Configurator and click Revive.

5. Wait and eventually your phone should restart, then slide to unlock and start recovery.

6. Enter your phone passcode twice.

7. Wait for it to recover itself. Configurator may bring up an error about it taking too long. Ignore it and don't click the Stop button.

8. After it finishes, unlock your phone, then force quit Configurator so you don't need to click its Stop button (might not make a difference but why risk it).

Better to wait and always advisable not to install on main devices.

If this SNAFU had any upside for me personally, it was to remind me of the existence of "Back tap".

Enabled it but cannot remember ever using it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What a great way to learn that there is a handy feature called 'Back Tap'! 🤓
Haha! Indeed!

This is why we have betas, and this is why you shouldn’t install a beta on a device that you use for crucial things, not even public betas.
