Good for who? Apple's action feels excessively paternalistic to me. I understand and respect Apple's right to curate its App Store. That is part of what distinguishes the Apple ecosystem. But there is a point at which curation tilts into the domain of nanny state, and this cuts a bit close to the later, IMHO.

For Apple. It's good they've taken a game off the App Store that involved "weed".

From the App Store Review Guidelines:

I haven't played to game so I don't know if excessive consumption of marijuana is encouraged, but otherwise they should be fine if the game is just about the growing/selling portion of it and you don't see people actually smoking tons of weed. After all, maybe customers will not actually smoke it and just buy it for the sake of it. ;)

A more effective solution however might be to add a couple medical signs to suggest it's a medical marijuana business, which wouldn't make it an "illegal substance" in that context.

Even then tho it shouldn't matter, weed is legal in 2 states and there are other countries in the world that it is legal.

So the app is removed from both Google Play and App Store.
The developer first blaming it on a maintence thing and later blame Apple because the game is to good from them? what?

Stop feeding this kids with ad money...

So it's not available on Google Play either?

Frankly, I don't understand what all the fuss is about. But then again, I never understood some people's fascination with weed/alcohol/drugs and the need to get high/drunk.

True, the game could make it clear that the story is taking place in Colorado (or any region where weed is legal) and it should make it a legal substance in that context then, thus not violating App Store guidelines.

Because we all know that a game has to be "solid class" before it goes on the App Store.

Oh wait.

Is shooting people or beating up females acceptable but weed is not?

That seems to be Apple's view.

What a strange mindset the people at Apple must have. Glad they don't run a courtroom.

In prison for messing with weed, but beating up or shooting people, hey that's fine.

Why? This just in - the world is correctly realizing that a harmless plant which happens to have some medicinal benefits along with helping people wind down after a tough day has ZERO reason to be illegal or given some stigma. Follow the money and you'll see why its REALLY illegal. Hint: Its because of financial interests of certain industries and parties being affected if its made legal.

The Richard Nixon/Reagan era old fartbags are thankfully dying off and its just a matter of time before those in the DEA will have to find REAL jobs. Good.

Apple can do whatever they want but most people do NOT see cannabis as a drug so the app doesnt violate anything. But, whatever.

The developers don't share Apple's specific justification for the removal, claiming that while there may have been some objections to "illegal activities", Apple must have simply thought it was "too good" of a game as there are a number of other marijuana-themed apps available in the App Store.

LOL - too good a game huh... I think the devs might have been smoking a little bit of something for this to seem logical

Porn for example is not illegal but apple does not allow it in the App Store! You think they should?

Yes, why not, unless the iPad or iPhone are only meant for children?

Why should there not be an Adult section of the App Store?
