Why? This just in - the world is correctly realizing that a harmless plant which happens to have some medicinal benefits along with helping people wind down after a tough day has ZERO reason to be illegal or given some stigma. Follow the money and you'll see why its REALLY illegal. Hint: Its because of financial interests of certain industries and parties being affected if its made legal.

The Richard Nixon/Reagan era old fartbags are thankfully dying off and its just a matter of time before those in the DEA will have to find REAL jobs. Good.

Apple can do whatever they want but most people do NOT see cannabis as a drug so the app doesnt violate anything. But, whatever.

I don't want to get bashed, but...

So Apple allows GTA games that let players kill, steal, engage in sequel intercourse with prostitutes but doesn't allow this game to exist? Hmm I guess the activities in GTA are legal then.

Why doesn't Apple focus on more important things, like oh

1. They just lost the title of most valuable company.
2. Their iMessage system has a serious flaw.

No weed.

So much commenting without any information to go on. What if this app was tapping into something else on your phone without your knowledge/permission and that's why it was pulled? Or something else along those lines?

Who cares about weed or anything else--seems like people are not even thinking at all and focusing on one thing that might not be related to any of this at all.

You got that just from a single/simple fact that the game was pulled, without even knowing why?

Those political bafoons sure did a very solid job of poisoning the USA against this useful plant and mostly harmless drug. I still think pot heads are idiots, but it's become clear to me that weed is far less a legit problem in the USA than alcohol and other street drugs.
Pot killed a kid in front of my house. The other driver was high (per police report) and hit him head-on on an empty road. "Harmless" seems a bit hyperbolic to me.

Now, steroids in pro athletes, there's a "harmless" drug that we spend far too much time discussing.

Anyone else's BS-o-meter going off? Sounds like the developer learned some lessons from Flappy Bird and saw a chance to get some free publicity. I mean, really, how powerful is Apple if they can get the game pulled from Google Play too?

This is so fake.

well, either way, depends in the u.s. what state you're in for it to be illegal or not. in CO and WA any pot is legal.
You shouldn't say it that way. For instance, in CO you may not smoke in public, and you must be 21yo. And you can only grow 6 plants, and they must be behind locks. That's some pretty noticeable, hefty restrictions, actually.

I was thinking...if I was going to try to set up a scam on people, whether my app is mining data it shouldn't or I'm just playing a marketing game like happened with Flappy...well, maybe it should be about weed!! What could possibly get more attention?

Not that I have or would ever play this game but I hate when apple pulls this crap :/. Hopefully they atleast get paid out. It's like either pull all the weed games or pull none.

Exactly.
Not that I want to justify GTA because that I cannot do, but the rush to judgment by so many people here is terrifying.

FWIW, I will never touch GTA or any game of its type, but the GTA hot coffee scandal was hilarious. People bought the game for their kids and had no objectification to fact that the game glorified violence and crime. Then suddenly when it was discovered the game could be hacked (kind of like Sims or Dungeon Siege but taking more effort) to show 5 seconds of nudity, these parents were outraged. Hillary Clinton even got in on the action, railing against consensual happy endings although she had no problem with murder.

I must be in the minority. It's a chemical that you ingest and it messes with your body in all kinds of ways. Sounds like a drug to me.

I love how

everybody knows just what is happening. Pot fans are sure it's the Man, harshing your buzz. Apple haters are sure it's puritanism, and controlling Apple. I'd say the structure of laws in this area has gotten pretty liquid. Maybe there's a legal issue with in-app purchases? I mean, you'll notice, you know that it's down. This will give it publicity. Maybe it's an age rating. If your parents say you shouldn't download this kids... I don't know, and the story doesn't help us. Nor do speculations.

This is because there's a contract involved here. Apple tells the programmers, and asks them not to disclose. They fix it. I can't say this is an unreasonable, or inconsistent thing, because I don't see anywhere here were I could find that out. There's just a bunch of opinions. We'll see in a few days.

I'm against all intoxicates and mind altering drugs, including weed. But this is ridiculous. They got GTA on there which is full of murder, drugs and other criminal activity and a whole bunch of mafia games.

Do we know that's why the app was pulled?

Messes with your body? Does pot turn you into a werewolf or vampire or something?

That's it! I AM BOYCOTTING APPLE!

For pulling an app? Me thinks you protesteth too much. I don't have anymore information than the next why Apple changed course but guessing because it was in the Top Ten list, highly visible to younger kids & parents complained. Yes other fantasy games depicting illegal activity are frequently top ten but most American parents are numb to gun & run games. Drugs are different, except maybe the western & NE states.

Was it pulled in Colorado??? If so that's BS.

If it refers to illegal activities, I'd love to know why games that encourage MURDER are allowed.

Oh that's right because there is still an on going global conspiracy to demonize marijuana and make it something it's not.

Step back and realize once again that in the US alcohol is perfectly legal and marijuana is still mostly illegal. Talk about insane. The definition of insanity.

Until we know why it was actually pulled seems like there isn't much to say about it one way or another.

Gee, not enough brains to allow it to be put up for purchase in the first place? What with Apple's rigorous approval policies and all?

Something smells. And it's not weed.
