Guys I still see the pending update on the Watch app and my watch needs charging tonight, is there a way I can delete the update or cancel it? I am thinking on charging it on Airplane Mode too.

I think the best thing Apple can do right now is stop "Improvements" and "New Ideas" for a month or so, take a deep breath and look at what they are doing and it's impact (if any other than MR forums). It's time to regroup and refocus, IMO. This bricking by itself is one thing, but stacked with all the other questionable decisions, products and the like of recent calls for pause.

Customer pre-ordered the new Watch and waited over a month to get it. Got it yesterday and this update then bricked it. Now we have to send it off for service and the customer will wait 3-5 business days for replacement. Where's the QA, Apple? This is NOT how you keep customers.

There is a month wait for the new watch? I didn't expect that!

It's super sad that I'm not surprised to see this.
A couple years ago it would have been a "well that's strangely a non Apple thing to happen". Now it's normal and I feel like we are in the Microsoft days at Apple

And here's Microsoft making really strides

And the cubs won the World Series

Up is down and down is up

fortunately I have mine working with 3.1.1 updated yesterday on an series 2 stainless steel

So nobody here has had theirs bricked. Got it. Just the usual haters.
I don't think that this hate I see it as disappointment, frustration, criticism and when it comes from the Apple fan base then something is not right with the brand. Criticism is good and companies should pay attention to it.

Funny, I just finished talked to level 2 tech support for my watch and she claims she hadn't heard about this issue.

Fortunately, the guy I work with didn't brick his yesterday when he updated his watch 2.
I had a long talk with a tech support employee when I couldn't restore my new iPhone 7+ from my 6s+ backup and was told in a round about way that customer facing employees are all instructed to never admit that they have heard of a widespread problem. I was in my local Apple Store and 3 people were standing behind me with my same issue and the "greeter" said it was the first she had heard of my issue, I said "shhh", listen to this person over here. I looked at the other person with the issue and we both shrugged our shoulders. I tried to show her my twitter feed with others having the issue. She just walked off, obviously frustrated. Apple seems to want to portray all their products as perfect and all problems are unique, at least when working face to face.

Wish I'd seen this earlier, just bricked my watch. Apple support says 7-10 days for replacement process. Apple is starting to rot.

Thats absurd--and doesn't bode well for this company--remarkable---they ask you to update software, that causes your watch to stop functioning--and then you have to wait 7-10 days. If there is a heaven, and Jobs is up there, then he must be going nuts!

This is what happens when you rely on your beta test customers to do your QA (quality assurance) testing. I'm a former Software QA Manager and worked at a few startups and Microsoft (about 15 years ago), and I'm appalled by how this billion dollar company can put out sh*t software like this. Just ridiculous.

SPEND MONEY AND HIRE SOME DECENT QA EMPLOYEES!!!

100% Agree with you here. The company is becoming a complete and utter joke. I usually spend $30-$40K annually on my hardware refreshes with Apple but this year it's been barely over 3K due to the utter lack of compelling upgrades or even competitive computing hardware. New MacBook Pro, are you kidding? And "this" software travesty.... I've been to Apple's HQ for executive meetings several times and remember their philosophy under Steve Jobs was "We only make a few products but we make those products very, very well!"

Now it's "we have a mediocre product for every possible category and ones you never even asked for."

Not sure what the current wait is, but I ordered my Series 2 on October 15th, and it arrived at my door on November 21st. There were zero in stock in any style at any Apple store in a 50-mile radius at the time, nor at any big-box retailers.
