I just want a new one so it drives the price down of the current model. There will probably be a price hike on these new iPads... I will just take the old one at a reasonable price.

That's the point isn't it. It'll be very very interesting where they place the FaceID sensors. "You're holding it wrong."
Exactly, without the home button as a marker. You won’t really know which orientation to use. I guess the awful camera bump in the back will now be a brail type indicator.

What do you mean? It will unlock like it does today, as long as your hand isn't covering it. It just won't work upside down.
[doublepost=1539279036][/doublepost]Can't wait for this. An all screen experience of this size will be really really nice. Face ID has been perfect on my Max so I am expecting similar performance here. Should be a nice upgrade from my 10.5, which was the best Apple computer I've ever used.
You mean you can unlock your phone while the phone is in a landscape orientation?

If all the bezels are the same size, I wonder how are we going to be able to tell which side of the landscape side is the one with the Face ID sensor? Feel around for the lightning port? LOL!
I mean, the camera is pretty visible on the front...

I'd expect them to place them at the top of the device in portrait and work when rotated. It wouldn't work if covered, so yea you would be holding it wrong if you're covering the sensor. I don't see them building in two true depth camera systems, but I suppose it's possible.

has there been any research into why some people have this problem? I would think that Apple would have something to say about this if it is a big problem like some say.

It's not.

Palm/Finger rejection has been terrible on my X and and Xs. So I cam very curious as to how you're supposed to hold and use an even larger device with no "safe space" to grab and hold it. Maybe balance it in one hand like a waiter holding a server platter?

I'd imagine most would hold with their fingers on the back. I know for myself, I never place my fingers on the front while holding, just to tap or swipe.

*It's a big problem for the absolutely tiny amount of people that it affects.

Man, Face ID on this iPad is going to SUCK.

My favorite position in the iPad Kama Sutra is this:

Leaning over the iPad just to get a Face ID lock is going to be ridiculous.

Because... Apple got it right this time? Security is a process, not just a thing you buy in a box at the store. Surely they've been working continuously to crack down on leaks.

Apple itself is going to leak it 5 days before the event.

Or maybe they've already fired the intern who posted it to the website

Or because there is nothing to leak?

Lightning port will not be replaced by USB-C .

Wait for the pricing . I sense a significant rise
Maybe. It seems like a bit upgrade and Apple has been raising their prices considerable. However, they are aware of the market and really the current iPad Pro's already use top shelf screens and custom processors. The big *extra* cost is the FaceID cameras. I'm guessing/hoping an increase of >$100
