MacBook Pro already has a 720p camera but MacBook might get an upgrade

I read somewhere that if they keep the same form factor the 720p camera will not fit. This is why the second generation kept the 480p.... Unless new smaller camera modules have been created.

Apple ships without Kabylake: What a disappointment, it doesn't have a Kabylake processor!
Apple ships with Kabylake: What a disappointment, they only updated to Kabylake!
For your information, there was no suitable Kaby lake processor when the last MBP design was announced.

A computer does it's job for me or it simply doesn't. I really enjoy my current 15-inch 2016 Macbook Pro and I've no regrets that I've bought it many months ago. It's a truly remarkable and quite powerful laptop, designed also for the next generation accessories with both USB-C and Thunderbolt 3.

That's my opinion, what 'many' others might think is not relevant for my decision for buying stuff fortunately.
FYI, I also have a maxed out 2016 15", I'm just saying for people who skipped the last design won't find much of a change if only the processor gets updated. For me to ditch my current 2016 model and jump into this 2017 model would require a big jump in its GPU.

As somebody else has already stated, these model numbers are already in use, for the old and new style Mac Pros, the Mac mini, and the iMac 4K and 5K.

It is unlikely that model numbers would be reused for different products.

Meanwhile, Apple can and does release spec bumps without new model numbers, e.g. the 2015 and 2016 MacBooks have the same number, and the 2008-2011 MacBook Pros 13" all have the same number too.

So, assuming this registry filing is accurate, we could see:
  • Updates to every single Mac.
    • The MacBook Pros aren't listed because they have the same model numbers and ship with the same OS as the 2016 models. The other Macs are shipping with Sierra for the first time, thus requiring re-certification on this cryptography register.
  • The cheese grater Mac Pro come back temporarily until the promised new Mac Pro arrives. Lots have pro users have been calling for this.
  • A new keyboard with Touch ID to go with the updated iMacs and Mac Pros, OR simply a new Smart Keyboard for a new iPad Pro.
  • New iPads.

This will be disappointing for many, if they update only the processors to Kabylake

Not me. I did NOT update my MBP 2013 last year exactly because I was expecting a refresh this year. And here it comes! Great! Kaby Lake will provide better battery life which is a good thing especially for Touch Bar model as it has a smaller battery.

I don't expect anything else - well, maybe a small reduction in price.

Eh, I think it will be disappointing also, because Coffee/CannonLake processors are right around the corner with HUGE improvements to KabyLake. Would feel pretty bad to drop 3K on a computer only to have one released 6 months later with 30% overall improvements in speed.

What's the meaning of this? That they releasing only a model for example with 256 GB WIFI & 4G? What about different memory configurations?

There's one "A" model number per product, e.g MacBook Pro 13" Touch Bar. Memory / hard drive configurations don't change the model number.

Then I guess you don't need a new laptop now and you can wait for one year? Eh? There will be new CPUs each year. No exceptions here.

THIS!

BUT:
Same model number also means no visible outside changes. No new ports for example.
If they really would do a spec bumb in all the desktop macs, then they would have to keep the old usb ports...

Besides that, the older desktops ship with sierra since last year!

Each year, yeah. I mean when these chips are nearly released (possibly as soon as 3 months from now); that's a pretty stark difference than a "year" from now, which of course would be acceptable.

There can be minor changes. The 2008-12 MacBook Pros transitioned from Mini DisplayPort to Thunderbolt and from MagSafe to MagSafe 2.

I retract the point about the OS, but I think the same conclusion is probable.

What else did you expect? They launched a new generation of MacBook Pro less than a year ago and you want a complete redesign again?

For some, it only matters when they change the exterior just to tell their "friends" they have the "latest one", and didn't buy a "used one" on craigslist.

Nah they won't waste time on it unless they're also announcing something new (like they did with the rMBP in 2012). The only new thing I could think of would be new iMacs though we haven't really heard rumors about that.

Why because Apple traditionally doesn't waste the first 20 minutes of every "keynote" with this kind of stuff? I'm talking about a one-liner, literally 20 seconds. I don't think one can definitely say it's something Apple won't do. It seems very Schiller-esqe to me.
