Each year, yeah. I mean when these chips are nearly released (possibly as soon as 3 months from now); that's a pretty stark difference than a "year" from now, which of course would be acceptable.

I think Apple has pretty good knowledge when they can put a new laptop model into production, when new CPUs are released etc. It is not enough that a new CPU is released, Apple needs enough of them with a decent price. It is also not uncommon for CPU releases to get delayed. And who knows, maybe the next refreshes will be done earlier than usually.

I probably won't be happy with any laptop updates until they abandon the new keyboard and trackpad designs, and offer a 15" without touchbar.

I am happy to see some concrete evidence of new iPad's. I was getting tired of the "Apple will not release hardware at WWDC" people. I had been saying for months that if Apple was trying to position the iPad as a potential computer replacement, WWDC was the perfect place for it. It also indicates to me that there will be major iPad-centric updates to iOS 11.

Yeah exactly, the release for Coffee/CannonLake were a little delayed, already as it is. My point still stands though. I mean if the laptop were 500 bucks, who cares. But when you're spending 3K+, you're going to want it to be the best for at least a year. Not just 3 months.

Why because Apple traditionally doesn't waste the first 20 minutes of every "keynote" with this kind of stuff? I'm talking about a one-liner, literally 20 seconds. I don't think one can definitely say it's something Apple won't do. It seems very Schiller-esqe to me.
They need to carve out time for pictures of squirrels :p

STILL no sign of new desktops???

“Some folks in the media have raised the question about whether we’re committed to desktops,” “If there’s any doubt about that with our teams, let me be very clear: we have great desktops in our roadmap. Nobody should worry about that.”
Tim Cook, December 2016

Ah yes... There's always something 'great' in the pipeline..

I'd like Apple to revert to the physical F-Keys and have the touch bar above... Unlike what Apple think, people still do use the F-keys. Using non physical keys is an absolute PITA.

This isn't the "MacBook", its a "MacBook Pro" and should live up to its name.

It's been several years since Apple has done this, especially at WWDC. So no I don't expect Schiller to waste any time talking about spec-bumped MBPs. If there's other new hardware being announced then maybe he'll throw something in otherwise no.

Seriously?
You should read websites other than Macrumors. Computex is on now, visit any website with news you'll see plenty.
I read The Verge's coverage and other than some gaming laptops I didn't see ones that was shipping with 32GB RAM. It's also possible if Apple updates to Kaby Lake they will update GPUs too.

Nah they won't waste time on it unless they're also announcing something new (like they did with the rMBP in 2012). The only new thing I could think of would be new iMacs though we haven't really heard rumors about that.

It'll definitely get mentioned. Its a developer conference there is no way they are going to miss the opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to the pro market/pro hardware.

I do think it will be only a cursory mention though, firstly because there isn't going to be much to talk about probably be a bump to Kabylake and secondly because they've got updates for four operating systems and apparently new iPad models to fit in.

Would be a big disappointment if they spent a large part of the keynote talking about minor hardware updates.

The new MBP will have no keyboard, no screen, no power, but there will be some news DONGLES design with beautiful colors hahaha

maybe an upgrade to the 480p facetime camera :D

It will be the new Opto-Shift front facing camera. A 360p camera mounted on a vibrating diaphragm which moves the camera up and down 30 times a second for a true 720i experience. While Eddy is explaining how it took two years to develop, Phil will come in sliding on his butt screaming "Innovators! Innovators!...YES!" while wearing a blue shirt drenched with sweat.

The EEC filing, published today, satisfies Russia's requirement for companies to register all products containing encryption and/or cryptographic tools.

As well as spare parts for the Macs, the discovered numbers also include a possible new wireless keyboard (model A1843)

I checked in past realized Mac models numbers and look like this:

A1289 Mac Pro(old)
A1347 Mac mini
A1418 iMac 4K
A1419 iMac 5K
A1481 Mac Pro(New)

OK, so put these all together and we get....

  • Apple is launching a new wireless keyboard with touch ID (uses crypto).
  • It will work with Mac Pro, iMac and Mac Mini (probably requiring a MacOS update)
  • Therefore Apple needs to re-register those mac models as "containing encryption".

Nothing to see here, move along...

Siri will be updated with a software release. These are hardware changes.
Siri does need updating but this is not the right time nor the place for that (IMHO)

Apple have regularly talked about Siri improvements at WWDC.

They'll discuss when talking about new features of iOS / OS X.

Apart from all of the reliable sources who have said there are updated Macs and a maybe a new iPad coming. Do you really think they are going to announce a new Magic Keyboard and nothing else?

This is an actual rumor! Nice.

I will buy a new iPad. And also an Air if they make one. That would be great.
