Darn! I just bought FCPX at full price a month ago.

Unlikely Apple would offer me the deal retroactively. Guess it wouldn't hurt to ask...
[doublepost=1486412229][/doublepost]I was in the same boat. I purchased FCPX just after Christmas. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask... They were able to refund the full price for me.

Yeah +1 for Apple Customer Service. They refunded me for my copy of Logic Pro X I purchased the day after Christmas.

Apple is entirely capable of doing the dumbest deals. A long time ago Apple owned a breakthrough (for its day) product called Apple Basic. It was multitasking, object oriented, and adaptable to GUIs like the one on the recently introduced Macintosh. A deal was cut with somebody named Gates and the code base for Apple Basic changed hands for a reported $5. Microsoft turned it into Visual Basic and it enabled Windows to dominate enterprise computing to this day. I doubt even Tim Cook can top that level of stupidity.
Where did you get that story?

I have long lamented the late, great MS Basic 3.0 for Macintosh. And yes, it IS what they turned into VB. But AFAIK, it was NEVER an Apple product.

What's Abandoned?

They just updated Logic Pro X about a week or so ago.

Haters... (shakes head)

Really?

I don't know where you live; but here in Indianapolis, several of the School Districts around here have handed-out MBAs MBs and even MBPs to students.

They did; you just refuse to see it.

Oh, is it really USABLE now?
Real macs...Mac Pro minis and iMac.

If it were zero dollars, you'd STILL find something to whine about, wouldn't you?

Ain't that the truth!

People should be salivating over this. This is an absolutely incredible deal. 200 dollars for those Apps... It simply can't be beat. I remember paying 1000 Dollars -- ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! -- just for Final Cut Pro waaaaaay back in the day.

Anybody complaining about this deal simply doesn't deserve to have access to it.

I hope this deal comes to Japan.

This is actually a pretty good price for all these apps, my question/concern would be about future upgrades.
Is this the only version you would get?

I think it will be forever, or at least as long as if you bought the full priced version. I just downloaded mine from the App Store and it looks identical to the one I use at work, same version number, no "Education version" verbiage on the splash or about screen.

Perhaps true for the grade school to high school level. But here in the San Francisco Bay Area, go into any university cafeteria/student union/library and the overwhelming majority are MBAs and MBPs.
is this representative of the rest of the nation though? AFAIK, SF Bay Area is a more expensive area, so they'd have the resources to spring for MBA and MBP.

I've been taking classes at a community college in the midwest, I see more Macs than Windows machines when walking through the student areas. And in the classroom it's basic Windows machines if you need Word or Excel, but the creative courses ( video, audio, music, journalism) it's high end iMacs.

Got my codes and redeemed them! Came in two e-mails. One e-mail had a PDF and the other had a password to open the PDF. They are now in my Mac App Store account like any other apps. Good deal! Very happy.

Well I got the first email but not the second and sales department is closed. bummer guess I'll have to wait a few hours more.

How far apart where the two email, time wise?

Would it be possible to split the codes up? If my brother wanted Logic and I wanted FCPX, could I purchase the bundle and give him the code for Logic?
