Hi there

I just wonder, whether someone else has kind of like shame shipment times.

I ordered on 25th, a 15" 2.33, 3GB MBP, 160 GB HD, matte screen

There is written that the shipment date is third of November, but deliverd on the 16th of November.

Someone else takes that much long?

Did not pay extra for faster shipment. But thats not the point.

New Rule

NEW RULE:

When informing the rest of us about your delivery dates, please be sure to specify the type of screen (matte or gloss) AND whether you are receiving a 15-inch or 17-inch C2D MBP.

ok?

It's kinda getting difficult to read about your 2.33GHz/2GB/160HD C2D MBP experiences and NOT know which model you are speaking about.

It seems there may be a difference in shipping dates between the 15" and the 17" models. For those of us expecting the larger model, your stories are giving us false hope. Since it's hard to tell what exactly you are getting, we have no way of gauging whether our own shipping dates are ridiculously late or, in fact, to be expected.

Coolthnxbye.

Ordered yesterday (26th)

Don't know how to get my "order details" to appear as a little image, but its showing as:

Ordered: 26th October
Shipped by: 31 October
Delivered by: 7 November

Ordered a 2.33ghz 15" stock MBP (120gb, 2gb ram) - I assume its matte display (I hope so!!!) as I did not request glossy.

Ordered by phone @ UK webstore, got a pretty good deal too!!! Got a great deal on the applecare, its a good bargaining chip - similar to insurance for car rentals, it doesn't really cost them anything to provide (except the risk that they eventually have to ante up!)

I'm hopefully ordering a 15" 2.33GHz MBP from the US website tomorrow, so be shipped to Maine. Options I chose are a matte display and the 160GB HD.

Problem is: it has to arrive before 15th November.

How are shipping times for these orders now? I noticed above that one guy is getting his on the 16th. Is it worth choosing a faster shipping method?

@ aaronfzr
Well when you post a reply, you just can look downwards to additional options. Then go to "Manage Attachement"

Voila!

@sarkozy

What I have heard, it ain't worth the money. They do not really ship them faster. :p

cheers man - thats new information & quite helpful. but my problem was that I couldn't get it as an image to begin with. at work right now, tried to "right-click>save image as...." but that option seems to be greyed out on the website. short of doing a screen dump (which seemed excessive), I figured i'd just type it in.

how do you guys get the image itself?

Hmm, actually before I became a Mac user I could've sworn what people really hated was the sophomoric air of superiority some Mac users display.

Oh yeah, that too.

So... You and Meltimedia think there is NO justification for price premium on Apple-displays?
Hmm.. What about the computers, now that Macs are showing up cheaper than COMPARABLE Dells, why would the displays be crazily overpriced?
Dell has laptops for less than half the price of a Macbook Pro, we all know they have cheap stuff, but why do you people assume that their displays is not part of that Dell productcategory? (Cheap as come to sell lots)
I know some people notice a difference in the displays, and prefer the Apple ones, but I guess you don't care about that?
For what concerns me, Multimedia is the kid here for being starstruck by and ELEVATOR and CARDREADER in a screen in that pricegroup..

Oh well, long live Dell. ;) I love Macs, but I ahve no qualm with speaking my mind when I think they make bad products/pricing, I'm not a fanboy that buys everything they make with my eyes closed. Mighty Mouse for example; terrible, I use a Logitech.. I can choose from other vendors, but I prefer Apples displays over cheaper Dell ones, and don't call us stupid for that please, at least not until you proove to me that colors etc is the same, because I have not seen that....

Well put. I wasn't trying to generalize regarding all displays or computers, just in response to the justification that was given by one member regarding his display.

I have a Dell display, a Creative MP3 player and a Microsoft mouse. If they all died on me tomorrow, I'd look to those brands before Apple.

Yep, i ordered a 2.33 17 inch glossy (160Gb Hdd) on the morning after they arrived and mine is sheduled to be here for the 15th:confused: , when i inquired the lady said it would be shipped "soon".

To me personialy i don't think 15th is soon! however mabie that date is just to keep all angles covered and hopefully they will ship faster.

Why it takes so long to "ship" is a bit confusing....especially for the 17"'ers, if they said they'd need a week to build + a few days to ship, then that would make sense. But such long shipping times are a bit odd. Its probably there to cover somebody's @$$ on SLA's or KPI's or something.

but hopefully its sooner than max though!! The dude I spoke to yesterday said that its probably going to be the outer end of the delivery time frame, but its a reasonable estimate...not likely to be longer.

At long as it's by the 14th November, I'm happy. All good things come to those who wait.

Anyone knows if Apple ships on saturdays?

Their courier does deliver on saturdays, but say, if its built on Friday afternoon @ factory, I dont know if they will begin the shipping process on the weekend, or wait until Monday. I'd think they still manufacture and ship on weekends....2/7'ths of week is a lot of capacity that would be wasted by not operating.

Estimated ship date was 31 October. Got the 'just shipped notification' last night or 4 days early. I orded on 24 October @10:00 EST. Replacing a 700 mhz G3 Ibook that has 384meg of memory. Do you think I'll see a speedup :)

Another 15" Ordered, Shipped

I bought a 1st-gen MBP back in May, returned it a couple days later because of the whine, and have been watching things ever since - initially for an indication that the 1st-gen bugs had been fixed; and then waiting, like everyone else, for the C2D update once that became evident in mid-summer. I have to say, this months-long saga has been a major distraction...

I was tickled pink, as was most everyone here, with the long-awaited update on Tuesday. This will be my second Mac (currently running a 12" PB), but my first experience of watching the store update in real time. That was pretty exciting.

Long story, short: I waited an hour after the update announcement for my local Apple store to open - just to see if they had any in stock. When I heard that they didn't, and they didn't know when they would, I went ahead and ordered through the online store, with expedited 2-day shipping.

Original estimated ship date was 10/31, estimated delivery on 11/2. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday to receive an email that it shipped yesterday (10/26). Supposed to be here by 10/31.

Can't wait!

I tried tracking my order through http://www.tnt.com/
I used my order number (I know this is not the one, but I gave it a shot anyway).
I used Carrier Tracking Number and I got this message in TNT. (Not Found).

How can I check the progress of my order's shipping.

Thank you all and I appreciate your help.

Annoying isn't it? The UK tracking is all messed up and you can never really see what's going on from Apple's own pages. The best thing to do is call up Apple and ask them which company the parcel is with *just now* and get the tracking number. Don't ask for the delivery company because then they'll just say UPS who do the last stage of the delivery, ask for the company that has the parcel right now.

On the german TNT homepage http://www.tnt.de you can chose between send-number ander reference-number.
On your status site, the "Our Delivery Reference Number" is the reference number on TNT and the "Carrier Tracking Number" is the send number.
Both works for me.
If both numbers are the same for you, you have to wait until Apple changes the carrier tracking number.

My Status:

In the past, I've been able to track UK orders by using the following page:

http://www.apecode.com/appletrack/

European orders (used to?) be shipped originally by Kuehne and Nagel, which the Apple system didn't use to track (great job on UK shipping, as always...). The page above provides the missing link, and can often show the details for the carrier for the final leg as well.

Doing a snapshot

@ aaronfzr

There is a programm calle "Snapshot Viewer". There are lots of free programms. Take a screenshot, cut out the informations and save it as a new file.

You can also just push the Print Screen Button, and then copy it into paint. Then mark the information with marker, Ctrl+C, then Ctrl+N, then Ctrl+V, Save it as a new File. ;)

I'm sure you'll see a speedup. :p I just wish they'd speed things up and ship mine out already. My ship date is estimated for Oct. 30, but still hasn't gone out. :(
