Mr Not-Enough-Time-To-Accurately-Make-A-Battery-Claim
Ummm, nooo...my battery was draining about 10% per hour, now its about 2%. So that is enough time. Why so negative and snarky man?

These beta iOS upgrades are great. It could be cooler if every beta update introduced one new substantial feature.

Has anybody run into any eSIM issues upgrading, specifically losing eSIM if you're a postpaid T-Mobile customer?

This specific beta or any? I installed the first beta and didn't lose eSIM. Even if the profile is gone from the phone, you can just add it either via the QR code or manually since the eSIM is already registered on T-Mobile and a beta can't mess with that.

That's not really what the updates are for (in fact, it would kind of be almost the opposite of what they are for).

Welcome to the new Apple! Where menu settings make no sense and aesthetically-pleasing design takes a backseat to ... well, everything else. At some point they realized it just didn’t matter anymore, I personally believe that was when people settled for The Notch. Once that walked, they realized a totally lower bar was possible and nobody would think twice.

What planet are you on?

I know it’s just a beta and I was fully aware of that when I downloaded it, but I’m looking forward to getting my battery life back on my 2018 12.9.
But all in all most of the bugs that I’ve experienced, besides the mail app, have been resolved with each release.

I use the notes app for drafts. It would occasionally start shaking/flashing. I didn’t have that issue after public beta 3.

I was getting an occasional reboot. Thankfully that didn’t happen while I was teaching. Although I knew I was taking a chance installing a beta on my daily driver.

I think you’re correct. It’s been “hard” for me to get used to using the “Find My” app. There are times when I check on my kids location. In iOS 12 I can do that from the messenger app. I can’t do that anymore with PadOS. I have to go to the Find My app instead. It’s not a big deal but it added a slight extra step to the way I’m used to doing it.

I didn't notice that it had been removed from messages, but on iOS 12 I mainly used the widget. Its current omission I'm hoping is just a case of beta progress, but I'm finding it more of a chore to have to open the Find My app every time as opposed to having it at a glance.

I’m surprised we don’t have MacOS Beta 6 yet. I was hoping they’d release it today.

The last one for me had an issue with Acrobat (open and close immediately/32-bit issues) and iMessage would freeze hard when quitting.

Split screen and slide over still don't work if you're using apps in folders in the dock. I figure this is a pretty important bug, would have thought it would have been addressed by now.

yup really surprising since multitasking is one of their key highlights for iPadOS

Not a stupid question at all.

The accounts live on a server, which is why you can access them from multiple devices. The Mail app is just a portal to the accounts on the server. Deleting the Mail app will not and can not delete the accounts.
That isn't accurate at all, depending on what you mean by account.

The credentials for your accounts are stored in the iPhone and other posts indicate they are preserved across deleting and re-installing the mail app.

The mail for your account is stored on the server but if you use POP to retrieve your email, then it is deleted as it is downloaded and no longer on the server. I don't know if it will be deleted when the mail app is deleted.

whats even more surprising to me is that nobody else even seems to care to respond one way or another. It’s amusing to me to see more posts about what font sizes iOS uses or how many clicks the volume rocker is. Forget useful features not working, as long as it looks pretty lol

This design is so terrible. I get the functionality point of view but come on... the clock and date line don't even bottom align with the top row of icons. This looks so disjointed.

Things dont always have to line up.

I guess many people just don’t use said features so they don’t know. For instance, my iPad has multitasking turned off, all notifications disabled, etc.

This beta is really weird. Dynamic wallpapers don’t show in the selection screen, darkening of the current wallpaper doesn’t work, folder transparency is off...

Looks like PB5 has fixed the excessive Watch battery drain. I'm 2 hours into taking my watch off the charger and it's still at 100% (would be down to 94% by now), and usage stats are back to how they should be.
