That's not helpful in this context - the OP was worried about losing their email account by settings by deleting the Mail app (which effectively 'live' in Settings, not Mail).
I'd suggest it was helpful. The OP may not realise that his POP3 accounts are not necessarily stored on a mail server (yes there is an option to not remove from the server when downloaded using POP3, however its not guaranteed, unlike IMAP or Exchange).
I think by alerting the OP that his emails may be lost if he does delete the Mail app, as he's using POP3, the response was very helpful.

Hope they fixed the Mail app

It’s worse.

This design is so terrible. I get the functionality point of view but come on... the clock and date line don't even bottom align with the top row of icons. This looks so disjointed.

It does line up vertically. Most likely in this image the widgets have just been scrolled through. The list is only somewhat elastic, and so doesn’t always return to the same position if you have more than just a couple of single-row items on display. Personally I like this homepage view, but only with a couple of essential widgets enabled - a long list gets real messy real quick, especially with how it’s cut-off at the bottom. Hopefully this will all be buffed up in time.

What the heck Apple?!?! ETA gone from Apple Maps!!!!

I haven't read through all of the 5 pages of posts, but is battery life improved? Battery on my 8 has been really bad, so I'm hoping this PB fixes that issue.

That was the first thing I checked for after finding a bug in the prior beta where sharing your ETA automatically (designating a person to share with from the favorites info) at first sent the current time instead of the calculated ETA... I wanted to test it out to see if they fixed it. Guess this is one way of ensuring no false ETA info.

seems you only installed it, without actually using it! haha

Nah, have been using it since last night on both devices, so far, so good! :)

My only real complaint is about iPhone’s battery life, which drains quite fast. However, this is expected, as it is an old one (iPhone 7) and they usually optimise battery life towards the end of the beta cycle.

Ah, that explains why I could not find it, as it is my first iOS 13 beta and, having read about it, I was looking for it everywhere. :p

Watch battery drain definitely fixed for me, had my watch on for 10 hours and currently at 90% charge, would have been around 40% before the latest update.

According to Apple, that’s how it’s intended to function... doesn’t make any damn sense since I don’t have any drafts in any of my accounts!

I'm guessing they mean it works as intended in that drafts you actually have will appear there but the fact that phantom, empty drafts appear is clearly a bug and you can see this by deleting the Mail app and reinstalling it. Once you do that you no longer see the weird drafts you don't have but if you do start one, close the app, and open again, it's sat there at the bottom.

Based on what I see now, the Apple Watch S4 battery drain has been resolved. After my phone updated, I rebooted my watch also and so far, it's been sitting pretty on 62% if battery for a while now (before the % would drop faster even if I did nothing actively on it). I also see that the standby time seems to be reported correctly now through watch app on the phone. So looks very encouraging as far as that goes!

This appears to be my experience as well.

iPhone Xr with s4 watch. It's past noon, and I'm at 93% with no connectivity issues....

I just don't get it....so many different opinions....for me on my X, I can only say the best beta ever :)
Let's see what will happen in the next coupe of days...

That isn't accurate at all, depending on what you mean by account.

The credentials for your accounts are stored in the iPhone and other posts indicate they are preserved across deleting and re-installing the mail app.

The mail for your account is stored on the server but if you use POP to retrieve your email, then it is deleted as it is downloaded and no longer on the server. I don't know if it will be deleted when the mail app is deleted.

I’m the first to admit I don’t understand all this stuff as well as many Macrumors readers so I will defer to you.

I posted my reply to the other person’s question because I had deleted the Mail app, then continued to be able to access my accounts on other devices, then reinstalled the Mail app and it works fine. The person I was replying to wanted to know if it would be safe to do that, so I tried it before replying.

Annoying not in this beta. It’s the only reason I use Apple Maps. Otherwise it’s junk compared to Google Maps, Waze or even my built-in BMW Navigation.
My bad I didn't get what you meant at first. I saw the ETA as a time and thought you completely glossed over it.

So is anyone else having trouble downloading apps? With these last two betas, I have not been able to download any apps at all.

What happens:

- I tap “Get”
- The prompt comes up to double tap and Face ID
- Then a circle spins
- And then the button just returns to saying “get” again and nothing gets downloaded.

Has anyone had any luck running the VNC iPad app on the new iPadOS? Not tried the latest beta but haven’t had any luck on previous beta versions of it. Thanks.
Which one are you trying? VNC Viewer still doesn’t work on the latest Beta version.

This beta fixes some of the file management issues present in previous betas. The Files app no longer gives you a spinning wheel when iOS routinely stops being able to access files. A reset was needed to fix this which made using the Files app very frustrating. Seems to be fixed now.

I still can’t access remote files and there are some UI quirks but the main function of the Files app now appears to work reliably.

I previously noted that I wasn’t able to see my files on iCloud with this beta, but left for a while, it appears to have indexed everything and I can now get my iCloud reliably.
