This is not some indie devs were talking about , it's apple, the first company to reach a trillion, the company with some of the highest (if not the highest) margins there can be

They Already make a hell lot of money by selling limited hw and forcing upsell and storage upgrades(especially since FCP on ipadOS doesn't support external drive, so you're forced to get higher storage tier) , it's not like they're sleeping outdoors
iOS gets bug fixes, feature updates, and security patches pretty much weekly at this point.
FinalCut on the Mac hasn’t even received a simple bug fix in over six months.
Where do you think those billions are going!
Into the small teams responsible for the pro apps for their least popular operating system?
Or… the iPhone.

The web design app, Blocs, has just announced they will release their iPad app next week at identical prices to the two Apple apps.

They say they see subs as being the way forward for Pro apps on the iPad but have committed to one-off purchase for the next Mac version of their app.

I suspect other 'Pro' apps will jump onboard.

Oh yeah that should work just fine. I upgraded my iPad and macbook in past month, I tend to do those every 4-5 years so it was time and I always go with the latest model. Indeed I am set for long time LOL. My iphone is only thing I update annually although this year I really love my 14 ProMax so gonna wait for the iPhone 14 ProMax/Ultra LOL

Have fun
Just waiting for the clock to strike 1!

Am I the only person who is so dumb they can't find the link? Link pls!

not a flawed argument when apple is showing exactly what steve warned about.
"Touch surfaces don't want to be vertical. After an extended period of time, your arm wants to fall off"

then showcase it that way.

Yes it is since everyone knows that you can take the iPad off the Magic Keyboard. You don’t have to use the iPad and Final Cut for iPad in that position, you can use it in different angles when taking the iPad Pro off the Magic Keyboard.

It’s shown that way because some people may use it that way, also the Magic Keyboard has a trackpad so most people will that with occasional touches on the screen and not a prolonged use like Steve Jobs said all those years ago.

Why can’t I find it in the App Store and where’s macOS 10.6.6 it says it needs it

That Final Cut icon looks familiar 🤔

Why do I imagine this would have some annoying limitation for seemingly no reason, not get bugfix driver updates as often as it should, and it wouldn't work with a PC to be annoyingly non-platform agnostic so you can't just use it with any computer.

They've already been enough of a PITA by trying to force DriverKit (non-kext) drivers onto the pro audio manufacturers (although seem to have allowed kexts to stay for a bit now at least). I still can't seem to get rid of audio glitches on unlock at least with the DriverKit ones. Likely planning on uninstalling them and going back to kexts since they seemed more reliable. Used to work perfectly. Now it's mildly buggy after forcing manufacturers to jump through hoops to stay compatible.
That's usually the method Apple uses to keep you in their ecosystem. Make everything only work for their platform (Logic used to be Windows/Mac, I remember because I used to use it on both platforms.) They want to keep you on their iPads and MacBooks, Mac Studios, Mac Pros, and on and on. An Audio Interface would be great for them to have. They'd lock in a ton of the pro market. Even though they have shown in Pro Video with FCP to toss their "pro's" under the bus.

Yep the direct links work just fine still nothing if you just open the App Store though. So use these links if you do not want to wait til it shows on main App Store page.

Use the direct links folks have been posting in this thread…its there not on main page yet

Apparently it works on a 3rd gen 11” iPad Pro but not the 12.9”, which is what I have. 🤔

Hold, resolve is free ?? What's their business model
Blackmagic sells some excellent -- if pricy -- hardware. I think it's worth noting that they also offer email support for the free version of Davinci. This would seem to be an amazingly bad use of resources but (and I realize one anecdote is not data) I certainly didn't hesitate to spend money on their hardware knowing how solid the support is, so that worked out well for them (and me, I wasn't disappointed).
