I've updated and left IPv6 on Automatic, and now things are... weird.

test-ipv6.com is reporting 7/10. ipv6-test.com is reporting 18/20. ipv6test.google.com tells me that I don't have v6. www.geekzone.co.nz is sometimes showing the green IPv6 logo, but sometimes isn't (reloading the page seems to be totally random). The light on the AirPort is green.

In short, it's better than it was with the previous version, but it's not perfect.

Edit: Stranger and stranger. ipv6-test.com has dropped to 16/20 despite my not changing anything. Also, its value under "IPv6 address" matches the value given by Sys Prefs/Network, but does not match the documentation provided by my ISP! The connection is reported as being 6to4, and the 6to4 server address is my own IPv4 address.

After the update, I switched from Link-Local to Automatic+Native

Interestingly, I can't choose Automatic+Native. With Automatic set, Mode is greyed out (and Tunnel is preselected). Even if I switch over to Manual, Mode stays greyed out.

Holy cow...

Cox + Surfboard + AC AirPort Extreme here. I've been experiencing the intermittent connection issues described by others and was about to go completely insane. It dropped communication again tonight during a Netflix binge and I almost lost it. Restarted the AE per the usual and saw the update. Really hoping it resolves whatever issues have been plaguing us all.

If nothing else, it is oddly reassuring to know that I'm not the only one. I appreciate the little support group we've got going here, hah.

What's the whole deal about ip6? What's the advantage of 'having' ip v6?

I have two AirPort Extreme ac and have no problems with them. I'll do the update when I'm home next week as an on holiday.

Cheers

So many whiners.... Never had a single issue with many AirPorts both at work and home. Much more better than other router like Netgear and DLink, maybe many users don't know how to setup AirPort/network correctly. Anyway updated to 7.7.7 without problem.

"The iOS AirPort Utility may cache the current updates listing in its sandbox, and only check once a day. Try deleting the app from your device (which deletes it sandbox) and re-downloading it from the app store."

"This worked a treat! Thanks for the help!"

reinstalling the airport app helped me too, thanks!

(weird, that this was the only way to force the update.. :S)

7.6.7 for second generation airport express, nothing unusual for me

I wonder why my time capsule and my airport express have red circles with "1" next to them in the airport utility but the update-button is greyed out... aka can't update. Anyone?

I have the Surfboard 6121 and the ac TC with Charter and have had absolutely zero issues in the 5 years I've been using the Surfboard.

Less likely whiners. More likely individuals who are having issues with their routers and posting about those issues on a forum. Some of them might need help setting up their routers. Others have consulted multiple Geniuses without finding a solution.

Good that yours are all working well.

I just updated my system, and in terms of ip v6 - with Comcast - everything seems to be working on http://ipv6test.google.com/ .

AirPrint printers come up much faster, and all of the printers on the network show up immediately like I originally expected them to. Before the update, only the printer that was connected to the access point I was connected to (main or extended) would show up.

AirPlay devices show up all at the same time and quickly rather than slowly populating the list.

My NAS seems like it's working just fine. I've never timed my connections, so I can't say it's faster, but initial connection/authentication does seem a bit faster. My Time Machine backup is going smoothly. (WD MyCloud EX2)

HomeKit seems unaffected, but I've never had a problem with HomeKit.

Before you post stupidity please know what you are talking about,ok thanks. The single fact that you have no idea about the ongoing issues between Apple airports, IPv6 and cox shows you just post randomly without doing any research at all lol

So I decided to live dangerously and update this morning. Nothing but issues since January finally getting everything to work without issues since end of March. Fingers crossed.

Update was quick and easy,so far so good.

I have so many problems with my network that I have contimplated renaming it to yo-yo. The damn thing goes up and down without warning. Mostly I attributed it to Comcrap, the worst provider in the world. And second to crowding in my building. I will update and monitor to see if these changes does anything to the stability of my network. Crossing fingers.
