After the firmware is successfully applied to your Mac, your Boot ROM Version will be:
MB31.008E.B02
I got the firmware update through Software UpdateMacbook SR 2.2, 4GB, Leopard here, got the update, installed fine. Not sure what it does. It's weird that some people didn't get it.

(Yup, showed up on Software Update, but actually I didn't install it. I never install updates on the same day they come out - let other people be the guinea pigs)
3 weeks old Penryn 15" 2.4GHz MBP: Firmware update didn't show up in software updates so I downloaded it manually. Clicked on the the .pkg and got the "[...] not needed" message.
It would be helpful if Apple was a tad more precise as to which machines need this update and which do not.
Machine: MBP SR 2,4Ghz 4GB 256MB

You guys that got the update, in disk utilities on the actual mac disk (identified by the manufacturers name) when you click info, does it say "guid partition table" or "guid partition scheme" under partition map scheme. I think the latter recieved the updates while the former do not. Just a theory so anyone who did or did not receive the update please reply thanks![]()
