I guess it's a sign users should wait for the official 11.0.1 release before updating
Not showing for me yet...
Apple today seeded a new macOS Big Sur 11.0.1 beta to developers for testing purposes, with the new beta replacing the existing macOS Big Sur 11 beta 10 update that was released two weeks ago.

The macOS Big Sur beta can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center and once the appropriate profile is installed, subsequent betas will be available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences. It is unclear why Apple has changed the version number.
macOS Big Sur introduces a refreshed design to the Mac operating system, overhauling the entire look from the curvature of the window corners to the dock icons to the system sounds. Everything features a lighter and more modern appearance. There's a new customizable Control Center that mirrors the Control Center on iOS devices, putting key system controls right at your fingertips.
The Notification Center has been redesigned with iOS-style widgets that are available in multiple sizes, plus there are more interactive notifications that are now grouped by app to make it easier to see what's going on. Safari is faster and more battery efficient, plus there's a new start page that can be customized with wallpapers and sections that include Reading List and iCloud Tabs, which makes Safari more tailored to your individual usage needs.
Tabs now support webpage previews, there's a built-in language translation feature, Chrome and Firefox Extensions can be ported to Safari, and YouTube supports 4K video playback. There's also an option to choose which sites an extension works with for greater privacy. Speaking of privacy, a new Privacy Report feature lets users know the trackers Safari is blocking when you visit websites.
Messages has been brought in line with the Messages app on iOS with support for pinned conversations, mentions, inline replies, and Memoji creation, plus the built-in search feature has been overhauled to make it easier to find links, photos, and conversations in the app.
Apple redesigned the Maps app to add support for Look Around, indoor maps, and Guides, which are lists of notable attractions, restaurants, and more created by trusted sources. Maps can also be used to generate directions for cycling routes and electric vehicle trips that can be sent to iPhone, and shared ETA updates are now viewable on the Mac.

So do we treat this new beta as a beta 11, or is it just testing the first patch of the final release? Im really confusedNo they are gonna skip 11 and jump straight to 11.0.1 so beta 1 is kinda like beta 11
I have reported this bug since the first beta!! The work around i have found is, if i hide the apps before unplugging my external display, they all come back once i plug the display back in.Overall the beta's have been quite stable, but one issue that still annoys me (and has since beta 7) is that everytime I turn off my external display and turn it on again later, all the windows on the external display are moved out of view and I have to drag them back through Expose.
This is a developer "beta" not a stable release, so no, this is not 'fully baked'. The betas are meant to get it into the hands of developers so they can help provide feedback to make it more baked, and see if there are any issues with their apps with the update version. If you are looking for fully baked versions, you will at minimal want to wait at least for the first stable version but realistically, several versions after it's been in the hands of all the millions of users who new bugs will always be discovered.Hopefully it's fully baked as opposed to previous macOS upgrades.
Literally nothing will prevent many users posting that. They should take their sweet time. Done reading users "THIS IS THE WORST RELEASE SINCE PUMA!111111"

My guess is to treat this as the first patch. Most likely 11.0.0 has been loaded on the new Macs, and we could get that version shortly after the event. 11.0.1 could then be released around when the new Macs start shipping (if it is needed for them). This is pretty much how it works for iOS. iOS 13.1 went to beta before 13.0 was even released. We still got 13.0, and then got 13.1 when the new phones shipped. So do we treat this new beta as a beta 11, or is it just testing the first patch of the final release? Im really confused
People complain about bugs, and they complain about too much testing. Can’t really win if you’re Apple.I feel like this version of MacOS has seen more Beta versions than usual. Could be wrong though...
Why not wait till November have a great event with the new Mac’s and introduce Big Sur? It would have a detailed event to explain everything to people who are really interested and gets their product and software out there in the world. I think it’s smart having another event like the last two they’ve had, which were greatly produced. It just seems odd that their has been 2 events and they didn’t bring up big sur at all... also odd that they haven’t given a release date.. We usually have it by now and honestly theirs no reason to wait on the new Apple Silicon Macs to release it.
There are no 2020 MacBook Pro 16" - at least none that been released (yet) - fingers crossed those will be announced soon.they already loaded Big Sur GM on MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2020).
Thanks for the tip! I can't find any info on the Unity site. Might you have a link handy?Check collab page for info about big sur, they have the steps
