Yes, that's because you are on beta 4 and beta 5 it's the same as the newly released build.
There was no beta 5 for the 6s only the 7 series. Build for beta 4 was 14B72 (no letter). Same build for release too but a carrier bump to 26.1. Interesting it saw and applied an update even though the same build.

May take a few more minutes to start showing up, but Apple has definitely pushed it to the servers.

Yes, same build number...14B72c for iPhone 7/7 Plus and 14B72 for everything else.
It's also a full 1.8Gb download. No delta for this one. Which is good. I think.

Does anyone know if this fixes the camera bump in the back? Also, does it change the lightning port to USB-C finally?

I love my iPhone and all, but can't stand that the camera sticks out and I can't use my MacBook cord to charge my iPhone /s

Odd. Your phone will not have much of the depth effect without the explicit portrait mode. I think once you update you'll notice a pronounced difference.

unedited pic from oct 15th, phone was on 10.0.2, from a meal we had out camping. clearly showing the portrait mode in effect. after seeing it we played around with headshots of the kids with the same effects (not posting pics of my kids).

UPDATE: thanks for the feedback, i've been sufficiently schooled in depth of field, bokeh, and the like. my initial thoughts are that perhaps with the publicized portrait feature forthcoming, we were more in tune with the shot noticing the background than we perhaps would have been before. at any rate, case closed, so no need for additional comments.

though i am reminded of how tasty that dish was on a cool october evening in the wilderness (BWCA) of northern MN...gonna have to replicate it at home again soon...

Apple today released iOS 10.1 to the public, marking the first major update to the iOS 10 operating system that launched on September 13. In testing since September 21, iOS 10.1 saw Apple release five betas to developers and public beta testers before its public debut.

Today's iOS 10.1 update is available as a free over-the-air update for all iOS 10 users. It is the third update to iOS 10, following iOS 10.0.3, a minor bug fix update.

ios10.1part2.jpg

iOS 10.1 introduces a new "Portrait" mode, designed to take advantage of the two cameras included in the iPhone 7 Plus, released in September. Portrait mode uses the wide-angle and telephoto lenses in the iPhone 7 Plus to create shallow depth of field portrait photos with blurred backgrounds.

To achieve the blurred look, the image signal processor in the device uses the wide-angle camera to create a depth map while the telephoto captures an image, dissecting the different layers of the photo to decide what to blur with an artful "bokeh" effect. It works on people, pets, and objects, but it does require good lighting to achieve the proper results.

The update also offers a long list of bug fixes and other under-the-hood improvements to address many problems that have been uncovered since iOS 10 was released, and it also brings Transit directions to Japan for the first time.

There have been some tweaks to the Messages app. It's now possible to play Bubble and Screen effects in Messages with Reduce Motion enabled, something that wasn't previously possible. There's also a new option to replay Bubble and Screen effects.

iOS 10 has been described by Apple as the "biggest release ever" for iOS users, with features that include a redesigned Lock screen, a Siri SDK to allow third-party apps to integrate with Siri, and a completely overhauled Messages app with stickers, a full App Store, Digital Touch, Bubble Effects, and more.

About time! Been trying to get the beta for weeks. After Beta 5, the Plus model couldn't get it any more.

me too. my lightning headphones are still "freezing up" causing me to unplug and plug back in. I thought it was fixed in a previous update?

I think the 10.1 update was supposed to include a fix for this. EDIT: It was supposed to be fixed in 10.0.2. (I have definitely seen this problem since 10.0.2)

That isn't really bokeh though. It's just a shallow depth of field from a macro photo.

I noted the same on my 7 plus, the depth of field was working well when an image is in close range of the lens and it blurs the background. This is all prior to 10.1.

This is actually good news. It means they're still improving it. Because lets face it : so far it sucks on anything other than ideal lighting/distance scenarios

But it also means they do not have a finished product yet; not at the time they announced the new iPhones, not at the time of shipping the new iPhones, and not now, 30 days since.

Weird. iPhone 7 plus was already on the beta 5(14B72C). So there is no update available to download, since that was the GM. So that makes sense. But my iPad Pro was on the latest beta. Which was 14B72. Which was Gm also. But when I checked for a software update. It showed the official release of 10.1. So I downloaded and installed it. I wonder why it made me download the same exact build number... since I already had that build number installed
