Can we stay in ios 10 even after they unsign the os?
Yes you can stay running 10, although you won't be able to reinstall if something goes wrong.

I'm gonna nitpick.

You can't skip iOS 11 since there's no iOS 12, you can choose not to install iOS 11 though.;)
There will be an iOS 12 next year, hence why I decided to skip 11. ;)

Just Apple s**tting their pants as not enough are upgrading. Sending out a small update will make everybody's phones ping/alert/ADVERTISE again that an update is available.

Can we have a iOS11 upgrade total MUTE button please?

Yeah, we'd much rather have Apple only patch bugs once a month than release patches as issues are repaired. I want to wait much longer to have problems in my life fixed and will happily live with them for an extra month just so I don't have to install an update as often. Sound reasoning.
This is the part of the complaining that I don’t understand. Yes, I agree that it would’ve been nice if more of these things had been caught in the beta process, considering how lengthy it was and how many releases there were.

But the alternative means that we wait for fixes for no good reason. If something can be fixed, why would anyone want to wait? I had to wait over a month for a very annoying bug fix to come after watchOS 3 came out. I would’ve given anything for that bug fix to have come out in 1-2 weeks. In fact, I wish that they would release a watchOS 4.0.1 to deal with the severe battery drain issues there. It’s far worse than what’s going on with iOS 11.

Regardless, I hope Apple keeps it up so that iPhone and Watch work better sooner. Can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want that. I’ll take a bug fix update every week if they can do it.

“Updates are bad. I just want to complain about bugs and when Apple addresses them, I want to complain about how many bug fixes they release.”

I really don’t get it. The alternative is an OS with bugs that don’t get patched quickly and if they get patched, they get it done months later after the OS maker releases an update, the manufacturer of the device codes it to their specific devices and then your respective carrier signs off on it. If all that happens, then the bugs get squashed.
"Ooooh iOS has some bugs that annoy the crap out of some people. I know let's start yammering about Android as if Android having issues somehow mitigates the issues on iOS that people -who have iOS devices- are complaining about. Nothing like Android deflection to solve iOS issues amirite?"

No, you really don't get it do you? What people would like is for the OS to contain less bugs period. The alternative isn't a whataboutism pointing at Android. I mean, it's not like it's going to fix the problem. The alternative should be a more thoroughly vetted OS. Note, there's nothing in my quote about an expectation of perfection.

ohh.. too bad. I just downgraded back to 10.3.3. I've never appreciated iOS 10 until iOS 11 came along with the HORRIBLE BATTERY DRAIN

I have an iPhone 7 and a 7 Plus, and NO battery drain with iOS 11.

Though I do think that iOS 10 was more responsive.

P.S. were you able to get your data onto the phone after downgrade, or were you pretty much starting from scratch?

If you don't want to be called out, don't be childish in the first place. It's worth pointing out the hypocrisy of all of it. Now that you have become aware of it, you may stop. Then again, you may not. All we can do is show you the door, you are the one that has to walk through it. ;)

Nah. I’ll post what I want. Thanks

Well when the alternative is android, then yeah, it serves a purpose to bring it up. This article isn’t about a new bug, it’s about Apple rectifying one, yet people complain. So yeah, I don’t get it.

Yep, i hate the constant updates. It needs to remind me daily to update until i go in and delete the file. But most people don't know thats an option.

Out of curioustiy, not trolling or whatever, but why don’t you like them? And would you prefer more infrequent updates, with the potential that bugs hang around longer in the meantime? Genuinely curious

Is it slower in draining battery charge? That's the main issue I want improved.

It might be due to a 3rd party app. My battery was draining faster than normal after I upgraded 11, but after a few app updates, it seems like it's back to normal.

Which I don't mind because that being said, Apple is actually fixing its bugs. I know this is something you get from Android phones..quick repair like this.

So Apple now has their own version of Patch Tuesday?

This is getting ridiculous. When did Microsoft start handling Apple's software roll out?

I believed Apple worked with Microsoft to squash the Exchange bugs.

Still no solution the the battery life problem, eh?
Which phone? Battery life has always been good on my 7. If anything, it improved with iOS 11. Not sure why it would but I've gotten some awesome run times since I installed it.

I kind of wish 2-decimal version updates would just auto install. While I generally like to do a "wait and see" approach for major releases because of the inevitable x.x.1 update, any such lesser updates should just automatically go through.

For example, I just went ahead and installed iOS 11 this morning, since I wanted to wait for bug fixes. So here I am just a few hours after installing 11.0.1, and here's 11.0.2.

Updated, calling sounds better, however download speeds on wi-fi are INSANELY slow. Compared to my iPad and Mac:

iPhone .62mb/s
iPad 59.50mb/s
Mac 49.90mb/s

Best way to handle such things is probably to do updates either in the evening and/or on the weekend. iOS updates (major and minor) typically arrive Monday or Tuesday around 1 PM Eastern time (U.S.), unless there's an earth-shaking Zero Day security issue involved or something like that.

Since alert usually doesn't come up until days later and would still come up for people if they haven't updated whether or not a newer update is released, seems like that "plan" doesn't make much sense.
