Really hope this fixes some issues I've been having with HomeKit scenes starting yesterday. I have an "Arriving Home" scene that no longer works (just says, "Welcome home" or something useless like that when I use Siri to activate it from my iPhone X). And on my Watch S3, it just says "The scene isn't set up."

Seriously, Apple?

It should fix that, as that is what Apple have specifically stated was disabled due to the vulnerability.

What seems less clear is whether it has fixed the issue where people aren't able to invite others to join their home. Apple never, as far as I'm aware, actually stated that this was a problem caused by that issue, and initial reports from most people seems to be that it isn't fixed, although I've seen one person on the Apple Support Forums say it is now working for them.

I'm hoping that Apple need to reset things their end, which may take some time to filter through. I assume they will wait a while before doing so, to allow people time to update, rather than open the hole up again for those who haven't had chance to update.
[doublepost=1513201598][/doublepost]Further to my last post, It does seem that iOS 11.2.1 has fixed the problem with invites. However, I had to invite everyone using @icloud.com rather than @me.com

me.com is still giving the error, but iCloud.com seems to work.

Coming from Android, I never thought I'd see people complain about software updates... you aren't required to install them/

This better fix the camera autofocus issues half of us are experiencing.

EDIT: It DID fix the autofocus camera issues.

Haven't had a chance to test 11.2.1, but where do you see Apple specifically stating they disabled Siri scenes for the main account user (and sub-accounts).

Wow! OK, when's the Samsung X folding tablet hitting the stores? THAT's cool!

Sorry, I misread what you typed. By it being a "welcome home" scene, I assumed it was activated by location, rather than Siri.

Updated iPhone and Apple TV 4 but getting still Invitation Failed message:
"You only had a one job..." :(

meaning it shows how crappy ios 11 has been over ios 10
Considering that iOS 10 was on 10.2 already at this time last year, doesn't really seem like there's that much of a difference to show all of that just based on that.

Sadly, no. I'm not sure why Apple randomly messes with this stuff on their end, but quite honestly HomeKit is still a bit of a mess. And take that from someone who has it set up for just about everything - lights, shades, security system, thermostats, garage door, door locks etc.

Worth mentioning there's an update to tvOS as well (also 11.2.1) that is required for remote to work if you're using Apple TV as a hub.

Supposedly that's enabled in the iOS 11.2.5 beta that was released to developers today.
Can confirm this. Whether there will be a non-beta version with it before the AirPod I don't know.

I just updated to iOS 11.2.1 on my iPhone X; and still getting this error when I try to add my wife to our HomeKit "Home"

"Invitation Failed --- Could not invite "icloud_username@icloud.com" because the Apple ID is not registered with iCloud"

Any ideas? My wife is also on iOS 11.2.1

Thanks,
Will

Same here too, though haven't updated the Apple TV yet. That will have to wait 'til morning now.
