Wow, eight updates since IOS 11 release, so much for "it just works"

Looking forward to IOS 11.3.3 when they *might* have most of the bugs resolved
iOS 10 wasn't that far off and these days is often seen as some example of great software.

I always update immediately. Have been for years and never have issues.
Good plan then you can go back if you need to before Apple stops allowing it.

Bug fix mentioned is only this one: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208357
That's the security document, not changelog.

As far as actually listed ones, that seems to be the case, but the description mentions that there are other fixes as well beyond that one.
That was just the security document he posted.

I am here.
Funny how you FINALLY didn't mention it and someone asks for it! lol

So, has anyone installed this yet? or is everybody just going to bitch about updates?
Yes and Yes :)

Just out of curiosity - what exact issues with 11.2 are YOU yourself having. ? Could you be specific.

Thanks!
Nothing of consequence really, more going by what various people have brought up in different threads in relation to iOS 11.2.

This update fixed a problem I was having with Apple Music on iPhone 8 plus not syncing playlists. Apple Support had asked me to restore from a backup but I didn't have the time to do that yet. Glad I waited.

One of the reasons I have been reluctant to have HomeKit locks in my home. I just don't trust that it will work in the middle of the night or when we are away on a trip. I have some HomeKit units (lights, thermostat, etc.) but locks are a no no in my house. I will not compromise the safety of my family for the slight inconvenience of using a key or having it as a "cool factor" from people that are not aware of the technology. I'm gonna stick to using keys to unlock my doors for now.

Installed 11.2.1 on my iPhone 7. I can't see any immediate difference compared to 11.2.

Homekit Invitations still throw an error ("AppleID not registered with iCloud" even when they are), but I'm not at home and my Apple TV/other devices are not yet updated.

8 updates and it's not even 2018 yet. For crying out loud, what kind of pumpkin beta OS was released last September anyway?
We were only about a couple off in a similar timeframe last year with iOS 10, and that seems to have turned out just fine with many people seeing iOS 10 as an example of a great version of iOS.

At least on the IOS side we get updates :)

And with each new update I'm hoping my iPhone 6s will be as breezy as it used to be on 9.3.5, only to be let down.

Only though iOS 10 was not a great version of iOS. It was an eyesore and a UI circus.

If you consider HDR a massive deal, then Apple Pay Cash is pretty big too. The point is that there have been plenty of lackluster x.y updates throughout the history of iOS, and it's not somehow meaningfully different these days.

I agree.

I’m not in the least bit excited about Apple Pay Cash, I barely even use Apple Pay. However, judging an updates significance purely based on what I want/like/desire fails to grasp the bigger picture imo.

Equally, as you say, lots of underwhelming x.y updates historically.

There are many iPhone 6s phones that can't use GPS in iOS 11?
Yes, ever since I updated to iOS 11.2, my GPS functionality no longer works. I updated to iOS 11.2.1 and it still does not work. Search the internet, and you find lots of people with iPhone 6 that have had this problem since the rollout of iOS 11, I was lucky in that it still worked for me on iOS 11 and 11.1, but 11.2 killed it for me.

Still nothing with beta profile installed.

And their won't be. Running a beta you accept that there will be issues and unfixed bugs. This is why you agree not to run it on your main device and should be aware that information on that device may be vulnerable.

If you aren't accepting of these things then delete the beta profile from your phone.

As many issues get covered in the forums here about all kinds of things, even rathe inconsequential ones, this one doesn't really seem to have much coverage, which would be somewhat surprising for an issue as bad as that if it was even somewhat widespread.

Sorry Apple, but during the HomePod delay I bought a few Google Home Minis. My smart home is no longer in your hands.
Yep, you have given your life to Google. Enjoy all that extra advertising that is coming your way.
How else does Google get all its money? Data on you, me and everyone. IMHO Google Home is a great way of sucking your life out of your home and into the Google machine.
I never ever have any of these devices in my home so I don't have an pro Apple axe to grind. Echo is just as bad IMHO.
