And remember, Forstall was fired for dumpster fire Maps, a new app, and iOS 6 “staleness” which in hindsight, seem like good problems to have by comparison.

Yup. He could have been a SJ prodigy, but lost in a very ugly power play not of his doing. Apple looses people like Scott, Tony, and Bertrand yet keeps the likes of Eddie.

Enovaters no longer seek employment at Apple. They join when bought by Apple then leave after a year or two.

Lol, so this means they were planning on releasing it on Monday.

Looking forward to the watchOS update so I can finally get service on it, I’m on the beta so it won’t be covered under warranty.

Does it fix notes or safari app crashing when you hit - multiple times to make a line, and hit return key just after?

Yes because people's subjective emotions and biases are much more credible and reliable than hard facts.

Real world use isnt subjective emotions.

It’s real world use

As annoying as he is, ever heard Pirillo talk ios bugs ? He’s off the wall upset fanboy to straight pissed off but Apple finesse is a mythological thing of the past

Hopefully this is the tipping point of flops this week on High Sierra and iOS 11 for Apple to take software QC seriously again

It’s hurting their reputation and consumer trust

Today's version is the same version that would have been released on Tuesday.

not necessarily, otherwise they could have just released it yesterday instead of B6. In my opinion, b6 was issued to check for last final issues over weekend before final release to non beta players... this bug changed their plans, makes me wonder if they new about the bug in advance since iOS 11.2 fixes it

So they rush this because of a newly discovered high impact bug. Why not release a separate bug fix instead? 11.2.1 will be what 11.2 would've been if they fully completed the beta-testing cycle. Really strange to release a big iOS update around midnight local time. Now they need to have engineers on site in midnight weekends to see if there are any major problems that need an immediate response.
Yeah, this is super weird. Especially since they rushed out the release to quash a bug, but in doing so they hobbled the main feature of 11.2, Apple Pay Cash, which is not available in this update, even though the literature says it should be.

I assume no one else who’s running 11.2 (not beta) has Apple Pay Cash either?

my iPhone X doesnt seem to come on when i pick my phone up to ID.

The other day, running 11.1.2 or whatever it was prior to 11.2, my X did the same thing, but it also didn't respond to buttons, or tapping the screen. I had to do a hard reset to make it respond again. First time that had ever happened. Here's to hoping it doesn't becoming a recurring problem.

With regard to fast wireless charging, I wish the release notes had said what the Macrumors article had, that it would function with wireless chargers supplying 7.5W or more, and not just “compatible” accessories.

- Adds support for faster wireless charging on iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X with compatible third-party accessories
The difference in speed is arguably insignificant and only beneficial when charging below 50%, but whether or not more than the two officially endorsed chargers, sold in the Apple Store, proved the faster charge, would be worthwhile knowing.

It seems the key is what charging block you use. Most of the cheaper charging pads dont come with an AC block. Just a usb cable. So the weak link is whatever the capacity of the block is. For example, if you plug it into a 5W block, like apples, then it wont be fast charging. So you need to buy a charger that comes with the block, and which says its 7.5W.
Anyone got one thats a good price? Link would be great...

Thats what happened to me. I connected it to my mac and it then sorted itself out without a hard restart.

Did anyone with iPhone 8 lose autofocus in their camera right after the update? Mine won’t focus on far away objects like it did. Anyone have any fix or idea about this?

That’s my big problem with the fast charging on iOS. There is no notification on the device at all that your fast charging. On Android like Samsung it says if its fast charging or not, apple needs to add this, should be simple enough to do it just like Samsung does for example would be nice.

iOS11 is bad and an urgent update won't change that. is not bad because this fix was missing. It has problems like performance, keyboard and airplay. Apple is not a young company, IOS is not a new software, however their ability to.develop software is declining more and more on every version.

So you think that constantly evolving the OS, and adding new features, that some bugs wont pop up from time to time? Can u name me one single operating system ever that has not had bugs?
Just enjoy your phone, and your operating system. When bugs pop up, Apple usually gets it all fixed. Much better track record than other OS anyway.
