My autofocus on my phone is toast, like a lot of others. No one said a thing about Apple Cash. Yes, this directly effects the way we use these.
Yes people are complaining about Apple cash. But my iPhone one the other hand is in tip top shape.

Apple is a company run by human beings. There are going to be bugs and mistakes with every major release. It happens to all companies. It happened under Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and every other CEO that ran any other company.

I believe the best thing Apple can do right now is to ignore these armchair critics and keep doing what they’re doing: fix the bugs (they did it on both of these within 24 hours), learn from the mistake, and move on.

What else can you really ask of them? Perfection? Not possible and unreasonable. Greatness? Greatness is finding a bug and having a patch out in under 24 hours. Heck, Google is considered a “great” software company around here and they still haven’t issued patches for some of the major bugs found on the Pixel 2 within hours of launch. And this is a company who focuses primarily on software.

Your missing the point. It's not that people are complaining about bug fixes, its the idiotic changes that they make that literally make no sense, its the seriousness of the problems made, it's the frequency of the 'bugs' that irks users.

Maybe you are new to Apple, or maybe you haven't been paying attention. I don't know which, but under Steve Jobs these kind of problems did not happen. So you are incorrect on that. Antenna Gate was a farce, so do even bring that up. The 'Root' exploit is the biggest blunder I have ever seen Apple make or any other company for that matter that make software. It was and is beyond excusable. That would never happen under steve jobs.

Idiotic changes, the WiFi, Bluetooth, toggles are only temporary now? Why? Because we do not know how to use them or remember to turn them off. oh thanks Apple for that.

On a call it now says Audio? Nice. Now I can choose to send the call to my speakers, iphone(it's already on the iphone?) or Ipad? How does that make any sense at all? Please tell me. I would love to hear it. How about a separate button for sending it to a speaker or another device? Why is 'iphone' even a option when it's already on the iphone to begin with? That change is idiotic. On a call i am sure if and when I need my call on speaker I know what I want before I press the button. I want it on speaker. Not complicated, I hit one button and I am good to go. Now while I am on the call with another person they will have to wait until I choose what I want now. Make zero sense. Now I am delaying my call while going through a process that I really don't need to go through. IOS is getting worse with every update. Not better.

Greatness is not fixing a problem within 24hrs. The 'Root' exploit was not a 'bug'. It was a major breach of security on Apple's part. And greatness would be not having the exploit in the first place. It's like a kid messing up over and over again, and telling them it's ok. After awhile that kid will not care if they mess up again because they know there will be no consequences because of it. Apple is now that kid, they don't care if they mess up because they can rely on people who constantly defend them to tell them it's alright, and I will buy their products no matter what. That only makes the problem worse and that is where we are today. Sooner or later people will get sick of it and move on. It has happened before, It can happen again. Back in the 1980's Apple as now could do no wrong, until Apple fired Steve and the company was ok for about 5 years but began to tumble down hill.

Lastly we are not armchair critics, we are people, users who care about the company and remember who they used to be. Don't get it twisted. We want them to go back to that. Most users who defend everything that they do either do not know how it used to be and have lower expectations or do and don't care about the company. I am not one of them. You shouldn't be either.

Don’t take it personally. It’s a matter of priorities. Airplay 2 was only a higher priority when HomePod was being released in December. You have HomePod to thank for the fact that AirPlay 2 was even in earlier betas in the first place.

Once HomePod was delayed, Apple preferred developers and beta testers focussed their testing efforts on other areas.

If messages in iCloud becomes the focus of 11.3, we might not see AirPlay 2 return until the 11.4 betas. Or maybe Apple will be releasing HomePod sooner, and AirPlay 2 will be in the 11.3 beta cycle, or even 11.2.x. Who knows?

The main purpose of iOS 11 is to add support for iPhone 8 and X. New feature rollouts, whether Apple Pay Cash, AirPlay 2 or messages in iCloud, are not as important as getting the OS stable and optimized for new (and older) devices.

In a perfect world, all the new features would have been in the 11.0 release. In the real world, we have to wait for Apple to release features, as time and resources permit.

It’s BS if you ask me. They advertised it (Airplay 2) would be available in IOS 11. Clearly deceiving.

They removed the iOS 11.2 entry on the drop down menu of their feedback page. I’m sure it was there saturday.

And if it comes in before development stops for iOS 11, then it would be available in iOS 11.

This is not altering any purchases decisions on my part, btw. Also fwiw, one other pattern after iOS 7 is the record breaking earnings and valuation of the company. Interesting, huh?

Was there not an issue in one OS X version from a time when Steve Jobs was still around that when a guest account was used it deleted data on the computer?

Could the "pattern" be that not as many issues were being fixed (as quickly) in iOS versions prior to iOS 7?

WHYYYYYYYYY?

Just let us disable it if we wanna disable it. Do you think we're idiots?

controlcenterwifitoggles-800x707.jpg

You can completely disable it in Settings if you 'wanna'.

Personally, I like the quick access in Control Center to a temporary disable option. I have accidentally (idiotically?) left Wi-Fi turned off, because of a limited Wi-Fi network blocking internet access, and then had my cellular data run over the limit when updating apps the next day at home because I forgot to redo the setting.

Great for you. I have to disable Wi-Fi on a daily basis while on FaceTime calls because since iOS 11 it won’t cleanly transition from low Wi-Fi signal to LTE. Now it’s just more work to enable and disable Wi-Fi.

You're right, it is 'more work' to permanently disable Wi-Fi.

Instead of the 2-step procedure of swipe up and tap to temporarily disable Wi-Fi, you must use the 3-step procedure of tap Settings, tap Wi-Fi, and tap Wi-Fi toggle.

Although given your use-case ('I have to disable Wi-Fi on a daily basis while on FaceTime calls because since iOS 11 it won’t cleanly transition from low Wi-Fi signal to LTE.'), I'm not sure why you couldn't still use the temporary Wi-Fi disable function in Control Center? If you need to resume Wi-Fi, you can still reverse the 2-step Control Center procedure and save yourself the extra work.

Never seen an iOS with this many small bugs. Nothing really works.

About 15% of all buttons aren't performing their intrinsic actions.

The "Phoning" Experience has become quite awkward and the iPhone is a phone but it is not really good at it.
Voicemails are coming days later and re appearing after being deleted.

This iOS has taken control over its creators and not the other way around

That was not as bad as giving full access at the home screen as well as over wifi. Not even in the same ball park. No the pattern is that iOS is shipping and being released with more problems that need fixed. Bad quality control compared to under steves leader ship. Its as if for analogy purposes in school the substitute teacher not having as much control as the home room teacher for example.

Updates dropping like flies.

They are scrambling. And that is almost always a bad and indicative sign of someone loosing control.

Hardly news though. Anyone using Apple's software the past 5 years have seen this coming. New iOS & macOS every year is too much. All their users can see and feel it. Only Apple cannot. That phenomena is referred to as 'Self Blindness' and happens to all of us when we enter too deep and cannot see beyond our own horizon.

Ah, man, totally agree with you, I am so sad to see all these things happening for the last few years to iOS and Apple in general. It is for the first time I reverted from new iOS after playing with it for a few days to the previous one and I do not want to upgrade even with the few updates released :(

Simply just deleting all your data is not as bad or even close? How about they are both rather bad? Seems like things are really being pigeonholed to try to fit some narrative.

Somehow many are not experiencing most of that. That's not to say that there aren't some with more/bigger issues.

Yes, it is frustrating to have to wait, when you want it, and you want it now.

But the wait will be worth it, and AirPlay 2 will be everything you will have hoped it could be, and more!

Probably better than you could even have imagined it might be!

Never said it had too. People have a short memory about what quality Apple used to represent. Or are new to Apple and don’t know the difference. I do as do many others. As the saying goes ignorance is bliss. Enjoy your new toys.

Yes record breaking earnings do not make better products. Tim Cook is a numbers guy same as John Sculley. He too made Apple profit margins higher after steve but in the long run the products suffered. As the products are not the same as under Steve. How many new products did Apple release since his passing? One? Four years of the same design phone? Hardware on the mac side a joke?

Steves motto was to just make great products and the profits would follow. Tims Motto is to make as much profit as possible and use that to make good products, invest money where they are most profitable, and nickel and dime the customer to death by removing ports, raising prices, and selling dongles. They are making more money but they are not making better products.

Why did Steve Jobs basically handpick Tim Cook then?
