You must have vibrations / haptic turned off in accessibility.
If vibrations have not been disabled then you will have this newly added and irritating haptic feedback when swiping up to go "home."

Another "Intuitive" change to iOS. Slow down coders. Think about your changes. :apple:

I do not have that haptic on the X in control center, but I have the strange haptic when going home. It’s annoying!
How weird. I had the all pins firing at 100% haptic when swiping up the control centre in beta 5, but I get no haptics now on dismissing the control centre now or going home. I’ve disabled and re-enabled system haptics to no avail. 15C114

They are rushing everything, period. I will consider 11.3. :apple:
[doublepost=1512222474][/doublepost]

Be careful what you wish for.:apple:

Yep they are rushing the new stuff and not fixing the old stuff. There is no correct response except to move away from Apple's crap software. No one at Apple cares about software quality, its all about bling. Why do you think they bought Beats. No I am not a troll, until last year I did not have a single non-apple computer in the 12 computers I currently have. But that has changed, do I like it? No.

We all have that favorite restaurant that was to die for, then management changed and we have not eaten there for years. This is the new Apple.

All I hear is complaining. Does your phone make calls? Send texts? Recieve and send email? Browse safari? Boo hoo. Apple cash doesn’t work right away. I’m not seeing where all this whining is coming from. I have yet to have any bad experience on ios 11. I guess I’ll consider myself lucky.

My autofocus on my phone is toast, like a lot of others. No one said a thing about Apple Cash. Yes, this directly effects the way we use these.

My mini 2 has been fine tbh.

I still find the os a bit of a mess though in places. Why can't I clear recent notifications in one go on the lock screen sometimes but sometimes can with an X icon? Why can't I have a close all apps in one go icon like on my android phone instead of having to swipe away every individual open app?

I also miss the overall smoothness of the older iOS. And the older copy/paste thing with the magnifying glass. That was wicked.

Because on iOS you really should never have to close an app. There’s certainly never a reason to close them all.

So you think that constantly evolving the OS, and adding new features, that some bugs wont pop up from time to time? Can u name me one single operating system ever that has not had bugs?
Just enjoy your phone, and your operating system. When bugs pop up, Apple usually gets it all fixed. Much better track record than other OS anyway.

Of course you are right. But when these bugs do present themselves Apple should be excoriated in the press and in users minds. Otherwise Apple has no incentive to get the software right. People and companies tend to try to meet expectation. If you set the expectation low then the resulting performance is low.

Your theory seems to be that it does not matter how low Apple's performance gets, we should just accept it and shut the ^%&%^ up.

Most of us complain loudly because we are used to better performance from Apple, not perfect performance, but much better. Today the trend in Apple software quality is down and it does not seem that Apple cares about it. It does not seem that Cook even understands the problem.

Isn't that Craig Federighi's domain, being Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering?

Its not that i think people should not complain, or complain loudly, about bugs. But a lot of people here seem to way overreact. To say, as the person i had replied to did, that Apples ability to write software is declining... is such a stretch. Its really about perspective... and problems in the present always seem worse than problems in the past. Ive been using Apple’s operating systems since they started... and they have always had bugs. I doubt very much that the number of bugs is any higher of a percentage than at any other time in their history. And thats saying a lot, given how much more complex operating systems are today than they used to be. Its crazy to see how much peopke freak out for simple things like an auto correct character bug. Now, for something like this date bug... which is indeed much more serious... they did jump all over it, and rushed out an update stat.
And then we read all the comments critical of them releasing an update on the weekend.
Hard to please everyone...

Will skip this and wait for 11.3....Hopefully apple will intro status bar icons on all four sides of the screen....So i know where to swipe...

It’s clear that Apple are pushing out iOS updates before they’re ready in order to boost iPhone X sales. This is what happens when you care more about your share price than your customers.

Yeah, because the iPhone X really needed iOS 11.2. Sales were SO bad for the iPhone X that Apple needed to rush an iOS release. I'm not sure I've laughed so hard....ever.

11.0 wasn’t fully baked. Still no iCloud messages and no Apple Pay cash. Lots of bugs. It’s been getting mostly better, but uncoupling the annual OS release cycle from the annual hardware upgrade cycle might allow all of us to experience fewer obnoxious bugs.

Sure... and if they had done that, and not released 11.0 when they did, they would have had far more pissed off people than the do now. Delay the entire thing, or delay a few added features... hmm.....

Folks whose phones have been rebooting all weekend and folks whose macs have been exposed to root access by anyone with a VNC client might have appreciated if apple waited until they got it right.

I know, right! I mean... maybe they should have waited three or four years... just to be extra extra sure no bugs in there.

edit: anyone that feels so strongly has a simple solution. Dont update. Wait as long as you feel is a reasonable amount of time to discover any issues. Then update.

Or Apple could just leave enough time to test the release enough to prevent any catastrophic bugs. Annoyances are fine, but a phone that resprings constantly or a Mac that anyone can access regardless of security settings and without any advanced tools or training are both very dangerous bugs.

That is literally a perfect use case for temporarily disabling Wi-Fi.

But I’m not out my house for 24 hours! I just want to temporarily turn off WiFi easily. A simple toggle on and off in Control Center worked perfectly.

OK. It is possible that I misinterpreted your tone and intent. Looking at you message history, I must admit I don't see a lot of sarcasm. So Mea Culpa :)

All good. :)
