The date bug forced their hand. Interesting, the life of a bug, bringing a nearly trillion dollar company to release prematurely.
They would have had to deal with the issue anyway, and not releasing something sooner than later probably would have been worse. With the 11.2 beta 6 already looking like it was the intended public release for 11.2 anyway, seems like while the timing got pushed up and came up unexpectedly, the version that was released is most likely the one that was going to be released in the next week or so anyway.

No, I just went into Wallet after installing the 11.2 update and set it up, quick n easy.

Odd not seeing it there or in settings on multiple devices. Tried restarting too.

On several 7 plus units if that matters.

I had Apple Pay with several bank and credit cards already set up. After installing 11.2 a few minutes ago, the phone rebooted and I went right into Wallet and at the top of my cards was the new Apple Pay Cash card. Tapped it to bring it to the front and hit the little “i” icon below it to get into the settings for the card and verified my account with SS# date of birth etc... then went back into cards setting in wallet to be sure I had the right card set as my default before then adding $20 to the card to test it.
Right as I submitted the deposit to the card, it alerted me right away that cash was added to the card.

With regard to fast wireless charging, I wish the release notes had said what the Macrumors article had, that it would function with wireless chargers supplying 7.5W or more, and not just “compatible” accessories.

- Adds support for faster wireless charging on iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X with compatible third-party accessories
The difference in speed is arguably insignificant and only beneficial when charging below 50%, but whether or not more than the two officially endorsed chargers, sold in the Apple Store, proved the faster charge, would be worthwhile knowing.

It is striking how many fairly basic and fundamental user experience bugs had found their way past QA and needed fixing. Good they have hopefully been fixed, but this surely erodes confidence in the update cycle. There was a time when being an early updater was a low risk thing to do. At the moment it seems that any attempt to improve user experience (which was at the heart of everything Apple did in the past) is being thwarted by poor execution.

Looks like you are on an X? Maybe they left it enabled on those with it for a softer rollout. Definitely not enabled on my several 7+ in front of me.

Update via iTunes for iPhone X is available for me. (US West Coast)
