Also give me Apple Pay cash in the UK soon please. Perfect for sending emergency cash to kids. I’d even lie and say they’re 18 to set up cash cards on their phones for that purpose. There isn’t really any other alternative to send cash in an emergency

Set up a simple account with no overdraft at any bank which supports Apple Pay. Set up the card in Apple Pay. Set up a payee in your bank account. It’s exactly the same thing as Apple Pay cash. The “cash” can only be used anywhere a card payment is accepted... it’s not really “cash”.

Here in China I’m not so excited for Apple Pay cash - I’m likely going to go down the route I said above in a couple of years. Of course, we have the added benefit of being able to use Apple Pay at ATMs for withdrawals of actual cash (at least one bank already has 100% coverage of the feature in its ATMs it seems) which makes Apple Pay cash less useful overall.

Granted, it’s a tidier and easier alternative to what I said above... but i think there *are* already options for the situation you’ve decided you want it for.

Anyone else not getting the update? I had Beta 5 installed and it was going to download Beta 6 so I removed the beta Profile and restarted my phone. Now it shows the notification on settings that there’s an update but when I click on Software Update it says I’m already up to date?

Where the hell is AirPlay 2 Apple?

It’s still hiding!

Anyone notice a performance change? My family members iPhone 6 is freaking slow on iOS 11, wondering if I should recommend them to upgrade.

I downloaded the 11.2 beta 6 and after the software installation, my iPhone x got bricked. I am now restoring it through my backup on my computer.
update: restored my iPhone X from itunes.

No Apple Pay Cash for me either on an iPhone X. I do notice now that any app that isn’t optimized for iPhone X, the white bar now stays at the bottom of the screen. Where as before it would goto Black after a few seconds. A little annoying because it makes it more obvious. Anyone else experience this?

Im refuse to upgrade on a phone over 2 Generations old. Ive experienced one too many times how the upgrade will lag the phone and force the owner to upgrade to a newer model. It has also happened on 2 MacBook airs. I just do not trust Apple when it comes to build upgrades on products over 2 years old.....it's almost as if its intentional to get you to buy a new device. Serious indictment but in truth it's what I have experienced with 1 iPhone 6 plus and both a 2011 MacBook Air and a 2014 MBA. Not cool.

I've got a 2014 MBA which is running 10.13.1 and it's still one of the fastest computers I've ever used. You might have a problem with third party apps or hardware causing slow performance. I'd consider erasing the hard drive as a start and reinstalling a 10.13.1 base image using Internet Recovery (not a Time Machine recovery to prevent bringing back whatever is causing corruption.)

I hope someone in Cupertino gets yelled at for sloppy software releases.
It's unlike me to say this, but we are in unusual territory- I think we are past the yelling stage. Someone needs to be fired at this point. I hope it's not Craig Federighi, even though it probably is. It is his department after all. But some very drastic steps need to be taken and ASAP.

don't update yet wait for the 11.2 reviews to come up first before update and you can have ios 11.1 ipsw download backup just incase you updated to 11.2 and noticed slowdowns but i'm hoping this release addresses the slowdowns and lags but it's positive since it was mentioned in the release that fixes a keyboard slowdown ...

This introduced some haptic feedback when going home. It’s annoying. Is there a way to disable it?

I got rid of it by disabling vibration under accessibility but that disables all phone vibration and isn’t really a solution for me because I like to have my phone on vibrate. Apple keeps designing the operating system for children! We don’t need to feel a vibration to go home.
