Those who are fighting a fire that's already in production and trying to keep it from spreading? Would it be better to leave various people hanging with an issue that is effectively making their devices unusable?
The point is not about the firefighting methods, it's that the fire was allowed to started in the first place.

It's unlike me to say this, but we are in unusual territory- I think we are past the yelling stage. Someone needs to be fired at this point. I hope it's not Craig Federighi, even though it probably is. It is his department after all. But some very drastic steps need to be taken and ASAP.

Why do people always rush to call for someone’s dismissal the instance something goes wrong?

Software is a process, not an end goal. There will always be bugs that need quashing, especially when iOS is constantly evolving and being iterated on. If a software engineer is sacked every time there is a bug, we won’t have anyone left to work before long.

Just step back, take a deep breath, and let Apple do their thing.

This introduced some haptic feedback when going home. It’s annoying. Is there a way to disable it?

I got rid of it by disabling vibration under accessibility but that disables all phone vibration and isn’t really a solution for me because I like to have my phone on vibrate. Apple keeps designing the operating system for children! We don’t need to feel a vibration to go home.
Ooh. That's interesting. I'm assuming you're on an X?

I can't say I don't see the reason why they added it. There's a haptic bump on NC and CC opening fully, and when engaging Peek Pop, so it kind of makes sense.

I wish there was a way to keep message haptics, but turn off system and peek pop haptics.

No Apple Pay Cash for me either on an iPhone X. I do notice now that any app that isn’t optimized for iPhone X, the white bar now stays at the bottom of the screen. Where as before it would goto Black after a few seconds. A little annoying because it makes it more obvious. Anyone else experience this?

Yes. Apple are determined to make things looks as ugly as possible.

Yes, I’m using an iPhone X.

Not for me?

Are you using an iPhone X?

To summarize:
Did the bug fix for the bugfix that was supposed to fix the supposedly stable dot release, fix the bug or does the bug need to get fixed by a new bug fix in the next supposedly stable dot release ?

What's wrong with it?

Ussually you don't release in friday/Saturday because you may want all your hands or deck in case something happens, consumers may use the devices more on weekend and probably the update rate will be higher.if something goes wrong the impact will be higher and you don't have many resources on weekends. Companies (small and big) prefer avoiding weekends because of that scenario and minimize the risk. I guess there was something really wrong in the software.

My iPhoneX is a BRICK after the update. I updated right after I saw the notification that there was an update last night and the update went fine and I selected one of the new wallpapers and then went to bed. Now 5 hours later my phone won't turn on at all. It was on a wireless charger all night. Was anyone else bricked after the 11.2 update?

Because this is not about one individual issue. It's about a trend. We have seen that the overall quality of iOS has been going down over the past 3 years. We have seen the introduction of Showstopper bugs making it into production with customers, that have never taken place before.

Let's just look at the past few weeks shall we:

1) Mac OS bug that allows for Root access to the system because a bug sets the Root Password to blank.

2) In the 11.2 beta releases for Beta 3 and Beta 4 and Beta 5 (at least, we did not have Beta 6 long enough to know- and it's production now) We saw a bug that could in it's worst form prevent your iPhone from being a phone. At the least it would break your voicemail.

3) The Date bug

That's a hell of a few weeks. If THAT'S where one finds their software development department- I think some fairly major changes are needed. Note that I did not call for the firing of a software developer. I called for the firing of management.

It _feels_ like there's a slight tweak (that's an improvement) to the gesture + timing (particularly the latter) to invoke the task view.

Is it just me but is wireless charging not working at all since the update. I’m using the Samsung fast wireless charger and the battery percentage doesn’t seem to increase at all.

An iOS update at this hour?! I guess they come out at midnight PST now.
It was probably intended for Monday or Tuesday but was released early to deal with the December 2 crashing issue with notifications.

This version has been out for like, an hour. Seems a little too early to judge, huh?

iOS11 is bad and an urgent update won't change that. is not bad because this fix was missing. It has problems like performance, keyboard and airplay. Apple is not a young company, IOS is not a new software, however their ability to.develop software is declining more and more on every version.
