I get everyone is upset about not having iMessage in the cloud, but what if the reason for the delay is better protecting privacy and security? I really don't mind Apple taking their time to get this right.

Apple's mistake was announcing a feature that wasn't ready-enough to be announced. Apple's mistake is not that it isn't released yet.

Apple also continually assumes that people will be okay being provided no real information. Their stock price is more important than transparency. They are not humble players by any stretch.

Here's something I don't get. This 8 plus is my first iPhone. As blazing fast as it is, updates seem to take ages to install.

I'm haven't experienced any of the above with beta 6. My weather widget is working fine, too.

The Weather widget hasn't worked since 10.3.3.
Swiping to get to the close option on the lockscreen more often than not causes a respring.
The music app doesn't advance while on the lockscreen.
I was able to do the disappearing app trick the other day (by accident).

Nobody is saying Apple should release something half-baked.

But in my mind, this is more than just user frustration at over-promising and under-delivering. Rather, those issues are indicative of a real lack of focus.

Apple seems to have too many other things going on like building fancy HQ's and glass-front stores, spending resources (i.e. developer time) on unnecessary "features" like Animoji and iMessage fireworks and balloons, creating a Hollywood-like presence in music, movies, and TV, and a variety of other similar sideline matters. I wish Apple's primary focus would remain on, oh, I don't know, things like preventing serious security problems like unauthorized root logins on Mac OS, providing real-world practical and useful features like -- yep, you got it, Messages sync across devices via iCloud -- and a true dedication to fixing bugs.

They say iOS 12 will focus on bug fixes. We'll see.

So yes, I'm annoyed by the lack of iCloud iMessages or whatever you want to call it. But I'm more frustrated by what that failure to deliver represents.

So, is Messages in iCloud reserved for iOS 3000?

One question to you guys (since in Mexico nobody uses iMessage but Whastapp); I don't get it,

iCloud can only store 5GB, and its used by ALL your apps, not only iMessage,

So how come is it "cool" to save iMessages TONS of messages on iCloud? do they even FIT? .. at the most you'll save 5GB?

Can someone explain?

I picked up my 8 plus in December. Battery health still showing 100% (73% charged at the time)

Not sure how that's possible, but hopefully this battery is still performing well in a year on ios 12.

Some times you run into unexpected problems when working on software, when it is ready it will be released...

What is "unnecessary" for you may not be for others.
