- Fixes an issue thats causes some phone calls from Saskatchewan to appear as originating from the United States
OMG! FINALLY!
OMG! FINALLY!
Firstly, WiFi is not a wired connection, it’s over the air.
Second, you can do point updates over cell data, such as 14.5.1, just not major updates such as 13.5 or 13.6.
If you need to do a major update for iOS and you don’t have access to WiFi anywhere, you can use your iPhone as a hotspot to your Mac, download the iOS update in iTunes and update your iPhone that way.
WiFi is OTA.The iOS and iPadOS 13.6 updates are available on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app.
Uh, nope. You absolutely cannot update your phone without an external WiFi connection. I have unlimited bandwidth over 4G, but there is no way I can make iOS understand that.
Third world OS.
Preparing is basically when it unpacks the update that was downloaded and verifying is when it verifies certain aspects of what was unpacked to make sure everything is all set to install.Does anyone know what the iPhone is actually doing during the different update steps? Initially it reads, "Downloading update" which takes a few seconds on my devices. Then the phone sits there forever with the notice, "Preparing update". Then it says, "Install now" but when I tap that, it then sits there for a while with "Verifying update". So it downloaded and prepared, but then it has to verify? It seems it should verify the download before downloading it. I'm just confused what's going on.
They seemed to have fixed these issues into iOS 14 public beta...I was having those exact issues, downloading matched songs to my iPhone stopped working, iPhone excessively heating up and apps destroying the battery life in the background despite having turned off that option...
fingers crossed those issues are gone.
Probably from updates bricking people's devices when they're almost out of storageI'm genuinely curious as to why Apple has put in the toggle to disable automatic downloading of the new iOS version.
It's a handy feature for people who don't want to update, but Apple has always been about aggressively pushing people to update. So why have they changed their mind? Has there been much speculation on that?
I can do multiple updates simultaneously. I’m on the GM build.Only one app update at a time is possible in the app store after the update to 13.6.
A seven years old 5s still supported!!!
Though it may be upsetting to you, is this an actual problem?<snip>

I think some European law required them to, it’s good finally some control again. Too bad I can’t do it on my old secondary phone (7) I’ve kept on 12.4.1I'm genuinely curious as to why Apple has put in the toggle to disable automatic downloading of the new iOS version.

Because it does. its death by 1000 cuts. To assure apple gets another 1000 dollars no less than every 1000 days.I hate updates. I feel like my phone gets slower each iteration.

Plenty of people found going to iOS 12 was better than iOS 11, for example.Because it does. its death by 1000 cuts. To assure apple gets another 1000 dollars no less than every 1000 days.

I’m on 13.5.1 and my 6s flies 🤷♂️Because it does. its death by 1000 cuts. To assure apple gets another 1000 dollars no less than every 1000 days.
Don't think that a bug fix update mainly related to security would add a whole new feature/API.And in relation, does anybody know if the new IOS 12.4.8 also supports the Corona-API now?
Which display rotation bug is that?does bugOS 13.6 fix the stupid display rotation bug that’s been there since 13.0 (and yes reported multiple times)?
Also most iPhone users don't have unlimited bandwidth over 4G.Most Iphone users do not have a Mac. Or a computer at all, for that matter. Third world OS.
Why should I not be able to do a major update over cell data? I have unlimited data. Is it Apple being a nanny to protect dopes who have limited data plans who may not know what they are doing and therefore run up extra charges?Firstly, WiFi is not a wired connection, it’s over the air.

Got same question, although I’d hate to go off iOS 14. I like it so far despite bugs here and there.Does anyone know if 13.6 can be installed over 14 public beta if you remove the beta profile?
Yes if I am not where wi-fi is available. My unlimited data plan can handle the job so why does Apple not allow it?Though it may be upsetting to you, is this an actual problem?
