Am I the only one who’s AirPods Pro starts indicate remain battery chaoticly and incorrectly after this update??

Which 3D Touch features have you lost? AFAIK, when you push hard on an app icon or something on the control centre, on a 3D Touch capable iPhone, it performs the way it used to, you don’t have to wait half a second like people with iPhone 11 and so.

let me know what am I missing because I’m looking forward to updating to iOS 13 with this version (if battery life is acceptable) from my current iOS 12 version.
Also, app switcher is still invoked by a 3D Touch press while swiping right from the left bezel.

I hate updates. I feel like my phone gets slower each iteration.

there’s no way I’m ever updating my nice fast new SE with wonderful battery life, it came with 13.4.1 and it’s staying there forever.

All my other iOS devices have been ruined with updates.

I’d pay a lot to be able to roll them all back to iOS 12, or even better, iOS 7.

(and security is BS theater anyway, I don’t care any nit more and do NOTHING that needs security online any nit more anyway)

That has not been my experience, that "all my ios devices have been ruined with updates". I just threw in the towel on my ipad 2 and bought another ipad. Can't complain about the 9 year life, the last few on ios 9. I find Ios 13.6 is pretty good on my idevices.

Not my thinking, but to each their own.

Wondering if Apple will release iOS 13 point updates like they do for iOS 12 after iOS 14 is released for devices that can't update to iOS 14?
It's a good question and I'm going to speculate yes on the question. As you suggest Apple will do for ios 13 in the future, what they are now doing for ios 12.

Or a lawsuit. Apple does not tell you that you need to live in New York with insecure Wifi hotspots or have a Mac to friggin update the phone…

System Requirements
Internet access
Wireless broadband recommended; fees may apply.

Good luck with that....

If you need to do a major update for iOS and you don’t have access to WiFi anywhere, you can use your iPhone as a hotspot to your Mac, download the iOS update in iTunes and update your iPhone that way.
Or let your Mac share the cellular connection as wifi and let iPhone connect to that wifi. Never tried if updating iOS worked that way but might be handy.

I only update to a version if
  • the number after the second point increases and
  • the number after the first point is above zero.

That's the best feature of the 13.6 update, by far !!!

Apple finally giving Users more control, via simple ON/OFF switches.

Next up, I hope, some simple ON/OFF switches added to the iOS App Store App, so Users can filter-off what they have NO interest in (e.g., Game Apps, Apple Arcade, Little Kid Apps, etc.).

Now is perhaps a once in a decade chance to get the iOS App Store cleaned-up & improved, as Cook will testify to Congress in an Antitrust Hearing on July 27th !

Now is the time to press Apple (for improvement), & MacRumors should be doing their part !!! ... have seen NO evidence of it, however.
Yes, there should be a toggle for Apple Arcade.

Though it may be upsetting to you, is this an actual problem?
Yes. It is.

You should know that most iPhone users in the world don’t have a Mac or even a computer to try that.

Then came iOS 13....and you know the rest of the story...
The point is that it's not just an automatic given of some sort that somehow everyone gets a worse and worse experience with more and more updates.

Doubt it, since all devices that run iOS 13 will be able to also run iOS 14. Anyone who wants the security updates will get them by updating to iOS 14. Same reasoning why all devices that could run iOS 13 did not have the option of updating to any of the iOS 12 point updates after iOS 12.4.1 came out in August 2019.

I also doubt that the point updates for iOS 12 will continue once iOS 14 comes out.

With iOS 13, Apple cut out A7 and most A8 devices, so that's a sizable number of users that would use the security updates by extending the shelf life for iOS 12. Nearly 7 years of support is a pretty good run for the A7, which at the time that the iPhone 5s came out Apple touted as "forward looking." So glad I bought the 5s instead of the 5c (which Apple EOL'd with iOS 10).

Looking for any bad reports, alls quiet so I guess no news is good news.
Now I have to find a secure WiFi to download the update, only cellular data where I live. Probably have to do the laptop share hotspot to WiFi loop trick to update.

There is no mention of the mysterious data usage caused by iOS 13, nor whether 13.6 fixes it. Apple has remained publicly silent on the issue.

My buddy is on fixed income and has blown through his data plans twice within a week since updating to iOS 13, incurring overage fees.

Apple won’t reimburse the charges and hasn’t been able to tell him what’s causing the usage.

i haven't updated yet, but i have had this issue with 13.5.1 (and 13.3.3 previously), but also with Mac OS 10.15.5 so i'm guessing its an issue with the APpros themselves not properly reporting the battery levels.

Doesn't really seem like there's something widespread in relation to it based on all kinds of iOS 13 discussions in various places.

That's was weird, was surfing a News website on my 11 and played a video and safari became unresponsive and the iPhone started to heat up and screen dimmed a lot. Was able to close tab and then restarted safari and it finally cooled off. Never seen that before. On iOS 13.6 now.

I found these tests on reddit and youtube 😟
You can see the results here #7

Does the new iOS update change anything essential regarding Covid-19 reporting?
I certainly don’t want to be forced to comply with something I don’t want to...
