Do what i did. I downloaded the Message+ app. It's the Verizon messaging app. After you download it and set it up, delete all the messages in that app. It deletes a ton of old messages on the Verizon servers. You can then either delete or keep that app on the phone. Reboot the phone. I haven't had a missed message in 2 weeks since I did that. You are basically starting with a fresh slate on the Verizon servers.

FWIW, I kept the app on my phone, but turned off all notifications for that app.

So this update is only for iPhone 12 users I take it? Got the update on my 12 Mini but it's not showing up on my SE. I don't recall previously seeing an update that was specific to a model.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did that yesterday and there were no messages in Verizon Message+ to delete.

Then something is messed up with Verizon with your number, because if you have non imessages on your phone, they will be in the Message+ app. Also, once you open the app for the first time, it may take 5 minutes for them download and show up in the app because it has to retrieve a boatload of old texts. So be patient when you let it download all those texts the first time.

Go to
Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Color Filters
Switch the "Color Filters" on, select "Color Tint", put the intensity all the way up, move the Hue so that it's as dark blue as it gets, then move the intensity all the way down again.

Doesn't seem to blow out any colors or use battery life. I honestly forgot about it until I saw the lady friend's 12 mini again and the yellow tint jumped right out.
That works. But if you want to make it even "better" add a little bit of Night Shift. I found that the Color Tint trick made it slightly to blue (even with True Tone on). Turning on Night Shift will give it a slight splash of yellow. So far this has given me the best result.

You can keep Night Shift on permanently by doing a schedule from 2:00AM - 1:59AM.

People still send MMS? I haven’t used that since Nokia was a thing and even then only sent them by mistake, costing you 49 cent a piece from your 5 euro prepaid card lol. Not sure if those are even still working here.

You realize not everyone has an Apple phone don't you? And you realize it's nearly impossible to get any "friend group" to agree on one messaging service, right?

I wonder if after 14.2.1 everyone has the same 18B121?
Thats what I'm seeing on my 12 Pro. But It's weird that this is only for iPhone 12 owners, which is why the 14.2 revised last night makes no sense. Why release that for 12 owners only then this for 12 owners only.

Switch off True Tone.

Even without True Tone it seems that most 12s have a yellower tint. I wouldn't say it's a problem, at least not on mine, but it's true.

More importantly, I'm hoping that it makes it so that the camera on my 12 Pro Max doesn't crash, as it has done on occasion.

Does this fix the missing text/iMessage notifications? I only thought it was the missing MMS’s..

I've not had any iMessage misses. All of the misses that I've had are either group SMSs (which I believe are sent MMS); singular MMSs (ie photos being sent) and short code SMSs. I'm going to test the latter in a few.
