Anyone with a 6s download and any issues? Let me know before I do this![]()
If I'm not mistaken, I don't think you can add widgets directly to the iPad home screen. They need to live within the today view panel thing (it should be noted you can permanently display the today view panel).I installed the new iPadOS. The feature where you can add widgets from the Today Screen to the Home Screen didn’t work. I reset the iPad and set up as new and it worked. However, I reset and restored from an iCloud backup and it does not appear to be working again. I don’t want to set up a a new iPad again and lose all my photos and data. Is anyone else having this problem? Maybe Apple needs another software update/patch to fix this glitch. I sure hope so..
Is the weird spacing the new Home Control section that was added? Have you tried turning off the “Show Home Contols” option in the Control Panel settings? The spacing goes back to normal when I turn that off.I used my 6S for the beta, and now it’s on the official release. No problems so far, except for the weird UI problem I noticed and reported in the beta. [It’s the way Control Center has weird spacing.]

you really cant not know...Steve let the iphone 4 antenna gate to happen or many other issues on macOS...so stop with this perfection that isnt real not even on SteveWhy are widgets on iPadOS such a mess? Stuck in the sidebar with the old style widgets, and both are managed differently. Very poor design. This is definitely something Jobs would never have approved: confusing the user because of technical limitations. They should have wrapped the old widgets in the new style or phased them out.
The App Library is a travesty. Supposedly the point is to clean up the home screen, but instead it duplicates all your downloaded apps and throws them in default folders you have no control over. Did nobody in that meeting consider the possibility that not all users are app whores - that some of us only keep the apps we use regularly in neatly organized folders that work just fine for us? At the very least, allow us to turn off App Library!

I suspect the fact that the iPad’s home screen can rotate may be one factor in why it’s currently not allowed. Say you are using the ‘Bigger’ 4 wide x 5 high grid option in portrait mode on the iPad and have your widgets laid out the way you like it. Now you rotate your screen to landscape, making it a 5 wide x 4 high grid. Where should the widgets shift to? (They can’t be laid out the same way in both orientations.)I still can't believe they don't allow widgets on the hone screen of iPadOS. Small screen iPhone can put widgets everywhere, while big screen iPad is limited to the sidebar. Also, no app library page. I personally don't like it, but iPad and iOS should share core features like that. Its like iPadOS was done half-azzzzed.

You still believe Steve when he said 3.5" is the perfect size even in 2020 ?!
It's like when Steve quoted "who wants to use a stylus". I don't think Steve would have thought this now, with all the drawing capabilities of the iPad.
I missed this post. See I look at this...now I see (and I'm dating myself here), a very popular mid 1990s Rolling Stone magazine cover with a bare a**ed Jennifer Aniston. (Google it)
I could post it...with the above image over the real Aniston a**...but IDK, I might get slapped with a warning, banned.
But banned using iPhone wallpaper as a censor image?? That would be interesting 🤔 😆
That was exactly my initial reaction. But after half a day, I've learnt to ignore the app library. I think they wanted to keep it simple/ a default behaviour without options.. You can still have your beloved folders (and App Library). Just don’t swipe to the App Library screen, if it bothers you.The App Library is a travesty. I still don't like it, but I think I can get used to it being there..
