Constant crashes. CarPlay crashed ever 3-6 mins. I’d have to disconnect and reconnect the phone each time.
Tried all the fixes online and with Apple Support. Same experience across multiple vehicles, all of which had Factory/OEM support and were officially supported by Apple.
Have you tried doing an encrypted backup to iTunes or Finder, do a Recovery Mode Update. This won’t touch your user data. See if you experience the crashes.

If that does not work try a Recovery Mode Restore. Don’t restore from backup, setup your phone as a new device and don’t install anything, leave it clean. Try CarPay with a clean new device. After you are done, do a Erase All Contents, restore from encrypted backup. If it does not happen as a setup as a new device but if it does happen after you restore your backup, your problem is with your backup.

I know it sounds crazy to do something like this but it could help. I was having an issue with marking text in Safari and a Recovery Mode Restore resolved the issue.

after updated my ipad (7th gen.), apple music widget broken. now it's empty (pink) and not working anymore. resetting device, remove/add again widget etc. not fix. anyone else?

I saw that, but not sure if its related to the prompt I just saw. Why did I just see the prompt now, and not the many other times I’ve checked for updates in the past? I’m 100% certain my setting was already on “Allow More Data on 5G”.

In the prompt I saw, it seemed that the “default” option was to not allow updates over cellular, because that button was bolded.

SculleyMulder’s post just piqued my interest because it sounds like it’s a new feature in 15.4 for 4G (maybe for certain regions?)…and this would have been the first time I checked for updates since 15.4. I have a iPhone 13 with a 5G plan, but connected to 4G.

That’s it! Still not seeing where to change it later in Settings though. Must be tied to the “Allow More Data on 5G” setting on 5G phones, or maybe this will prompt every time when downloading updates while connected to Wi-Fi and 4G since it says “If you leave Wi-Fi…”.

Try offloading the Music app and re-downloading again. The other thing to try would be to delete the Music app and then install a fresh copy from the App Store.

TLDR.

It seems having a beta profile does not show this update.
Only after deleting the beta profile did my 13 mini show this update.

Hi! This is the first iOS-update being able to download with mobile data with LTE/4G in Sweden. I know there was talk about this during iOS 15.4 beta (not be limited to Wi-Fi-network when downloading iOS-updates..) but have not been able to find any confirmation that this is released. Either way it might be limited to different countries but I have tested on two different carries with two different Apple iPhone devices (Carrier Tele2 and Telia with iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 mini) and both show this option. The option says something like: "Downloading iOS-updates using mobile data might bring extra charges" press yes to continue or cancel etc..
Same here. Updated over 4G/LTE. I'm in Indonesia where WiFi (at least secure ones) are quite hard to come by, so this is a welcome change

I just noticed that on my iPhone 13 pro max the battery doesn’t drain as fast as before when using 5G.

It’s been draining like I been using wifi or lte. For example I been using the phone NON STOP since 5:30 P.M. it’s now 8:13 P.M.And my battery percentage is at 79% and I been using it downloading apps and app updates YouTube, safari you know heavy use.

Before this update the battery would’ve been at 35-40%.

I don’t know if it’s just me or that’s what it’s supposed to happen. But, so far I’m happy with the results.

Anyone have noticed it on their phone too?

Sounds promising. It should be even better then after all the files settle down in a couple days.

As well as battery drain, I was finding my iPhone 13 PM getting warm when AirPods Pro connected on phone call or streaming video/audio. I actually started using wired earbuds ( Pioneer Rayz+ highly recommend). Now I see this update is out. Sure hope it works

Apple today released iOS 15.4.1 and iPadOS 15.4.1, minor updates to the iOS and iPadOS 15 operating systems that were released in September. iOS 15.4.1 and iPadOS 15.4.1 come two weeks after the launch of iOS 15.4.

iOS-15.4.1-General-Feature.jpg

The iOS 15.4.1 and iPadOS 15.4.1 updates can be downloaded for free and the software is available on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

According to Apple's release notes, the update fixes an issue that could cause the battery to drain more quickly than expected after updating to iOS 15.4. It also includes fixes for Made for iPhone hearing devices and Braille devices. iOS and iPadOS 15.4.1 fix an AppleAVD issue that could allow an application to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. Apple says this exploit may have been actively exploited, so it is a good idea for all users to update as soon as possible.

Apple has also released new tvOS 15.4.1, HomePod 15.4.1, and watchOS 8.5.1 updates to go alongside the iOS 15.4.1 update.

don't fix what's not broken, gone are days of me updating on the first occasion possible. updates most of the time fck up more things on my devices than they fix. my 13 mini works just fine on 15.4 and it will stay that way
