Hey guys, it looks like the not seeing the update issue has been resolved, but I wanted to echo, in case people are still asking. If you are on 14.8, there will be a button at the bottom of the software update page to upgrade to iOS 15. Otherwise, if you miss the button, it will just say up to date. My iPhone 12 Pro Max is in the process of updating now. I think the feature discussed here is Apple way of not forcing people to upgrade.

I believe they do this to leave the option to the consumers, as some people prefer to wait before trying a whole new generation of a OS.

You can skip iOS 15 if you like and Apple will still continue giving you crucial updates for iOS 14 🖐

For people who preordered the iPhone 13, are you installing IOS 15 on your current device before you receive the new one, or should I wait and use the IOS 14 backup on the new phone?
I'm doing an upgrade install (aka OTA) on my current iPhone X. Going to do a clean install on the shiny new phone since it's been a while.

If these Apple chips are so damn fast, why does it take FOREVER in the "Preparing Update..." stage? Literally everything happens in fast memory and flash storage. I feel like my iPhone has a 5400RPM hard drive in it...
It doesn't take forever. It takes a number of minutes. It has a lot of work to do that you don't need to know about.

Wow, the updates to the weather app are huge. Even includes dew point, finally. Seriously impressed; now we just need it on iPad.

I have two iPads (same model) both on 14.8. One updated fine. The other one says “Unable to check for updates”. I tried resetting the network settings but it still won’t update. Anyone else running into this issue?

I had that happen a few years ago. I just tried the next day, and it was like it should have been, like it had no problems at all before. Weird, but...

Hey all,
Just finished the iOS 15 upgrade on a 12 Pro Max. I didn't receive the new Hello screen after the upgrade was finished. My phone was as I left it, but said it was up to date with version 15.0. Did anyone else here not get the new screen? I usually let my iPhone go to sleep while it downoads, then it starts the update automatically and then goes back to sleep when done. Is this why I didn't see it? Just wondering if something went wrong, but everything else seems fine.

Any way of downloading it in itunes? It still says my phone is up to date (14.8) and I fancy doing a fresh install. I haven't done a fresh install in four years, it'll help me clear all the rubbish from my phone.

Why did they do that? Are they trying to slow downloads? Made me wonder if it was official or a beta
that’s because you can stay on iOS/iPadOS 14 and still get security updates in the future… or you move up to version 15 of both… have a better way to provide access to that option?

EDIT: for anyone thinking/commenting/messaging me about “but where was this information made available?!”… your are on an apple news site… just look it up. 😎😁

I believe that new "hello" screen is only available when you set up an iPhone as new.

Anyone having success doing a clean install off the mac yet? Right now I'm getting a "resource not found" error when I try and wipe my ipad.
