Eeeesh, both my phone and ipadpro say they are up to date w/15.7... no 16, nothing.

iPads won't get 16 until October. For Phones, did you look at the very bottom of the software update screen? A new major version is considered "optional" and they stick the upgrade to 16 at the very botom as an option. That way, you can keep upgrading 15.x, or chose to go to 16.

For some reason I have a odd glitch in my iMessages they turn Green and then turn blue.
For some odd reason it's only on my account tho Apple is on the case hopefully they can fix it soon has anybody else had any same issues
I've had a myriad of issues with my 13 mini since the iOS 16 release, including iMessages. Some messages not getting delivered/received, some going through to some people in a group and not others, multiple fail-to-send messages, fail notifications on messages that actually went through, etc. I reset Network Settings and have done many other things to try and resolve. Sometimes it seems fixed for a little bit of time and then returns. Wonder if there are bugs in the code since they added the ability to edit/delete Messages right after sending?

Also after the update, my M1 MacBook Air will not recognize my phone when connected by lightning cable for doing back-ups or syncing Music. I'm hoping this or 16.1 will fix these issues.

so without skimming every post in this thread so far

is the consensus that its fixed for people with violent shake, and others are now hearing a one-time click opening 3rd party apps and thats it?

Or still some reports of violent shaking?

If some have it, others dont - a hardware issue? Or a bug that still hasn't been fully fleshed out?

Looking for opinions on the matter thanks
It’s fixed. The shaking.

I seem to have a camera focus issue in third-party apps. Importing my Google Authenticator items was difficult because the camera couldn't focus on the QR code. Fortunately it eventually worked with the QR code miles away.

Anyone else having always on turn off while charging in do not disturb mode? Not sleep mode.

This just started tonight after the update. Woke up twice at night and always on was off

That's expected behavior. When you don't use the iPhone for a while, always on turns off. Last time I checked on mine it happened after about 45 minutes.

That's because the new 1x camera focuses less far away than previous generations. You just need to be a bit more far away from the QR code, then it works.

The right way for those apps to handle it would be to switch to macro mode (0.5x lens) to scan those QR codes.

Is it the same language? What I’m seeing is a lot of grammatical errors in other languages. Could it be the first one is in English from the USA and the other one in English from another region?

Both are identical. Mine is the actual screenshot and mine is from the U.S.

I don't know enough languages to see grammatical errors in other languages, but surely the version number has little to do with translation (e.g., presumably Apple writes changelogs in English first).

iOS 16 camera vibration is affecting iPhone 13 Pro also. Initial testing lets me believe 16.0.2 fixes iPhone 13 Pro too. I wonder if Apple did test this on iPhone 13 Pro at all?

Here is a three second sample from iPhone 13 pro, iOS 16, shot with Silver B&W Camera. Vibration ruined that video.

But what is the differentiation factor then? Are they different types of phones? In the 14 Pro it appeared as 16.0.2

I got home a few minutes ago with my iPhone 14 Pro Max, immediately updated iOS and then experienced the clicking camera when scanning my 1Password QR setup code. Rather gutted this nonsense hasn't been fixed.

Interesting. I didn't have the problem before, and I tried several apps (not 1Password though). Now after upgrading to iOS 16.0.2, I still don't have the problem in any app - except 1Password. Tried that one, and yes, I hear the click when the camera opens to scan the QR code. I can't reproduce it in any other app. That's really weird.

This might shock you, but when the phone goes from being used by dozens of employees to being used by millions of users in the matter of 24 hours, that’s when the majority of bugs are found.
Just look at the copy paste bug, one of the leaders of the team that created that feature literally said they never saw an issue internally
Yup every single time I betaed MMORPGs, literally within hours of live, it would be down forever. Most of the time it was because of some exploit.

What up!!! I can see why you'd feel this way but still voice your opinion on things. That's what this place is for. Don't listen to that other poster. Most are keyboard warriors and nothing more..

Chill bro!!! He was just telling you of his experience.. Maybe re-read the last 5 words of your post and look in the mirror.

James

Who is he? I wasn't directing it towards anyone or else it would have been a REPLY comment, ha.

So sad to find out today that my camera will no longer focus on anything in the stock camera app. This software bug permanently damaged my hardware. I can’t even focus manually by tapping on the subject in the viewfinder.

I had this vibrating camera and it only occurred a few times over a few days, I didn’t let it sit there making that noise, I immediately closed the app. Applied the patch and thought I was good to go.

Per my previous posts, there are no replacement options at this time, due to no availability, but I have placed a new order and will have to wait about 5 weeks.

Do you have pics to show this. This seems very strange to have caused permanent damage.

Also did apple run diagnostic? Is that why they told you it needs to be replaced

Any photos to show this? I am in SoCal too and have been looking for a replacement to no avail. I only experienced the rattle for a mere 2 seconds on two occasions and my camera appears fine. Update is working flawlessly on my end. However, my OCD has me checking store stock in this 14 day window to get a replacement possibly.

You have the one year warranty. You’ll notice if it doesn’t focus. Do you keep phones for long time?

This is also a factor for me, as I am on the iPhone Upgrade Program 😭 so I tend to upgrade yearly. I also have Applecare+. So if anything does go wacky on me down the line, I have that.

If you have apple care and upgrade every year. You’ll notice if the pics start being bad. Then just have apple replace it
