last update broke my Neato vacuum / homekit /Home Pod Mini abilities... while the previous previous one fixed it. Eager for the homepod updates to see what adventure ensues this time around.
I have never been so afraid to update my devices as I am right now. I need a Xanax first - maybe do a little meditation as well.

Does anyone know how ADP works? Do you just need a recovery contact or also need to pair it with a recovery key?

I only have two devices (Macbook and iPhone) as well as an external encrypted hard drive (Time Machine) and I am wondering what would happen in the very unlikely event my house burns losing all of my devices and I could not access my Apple password or my ADP recovery key?

PS: I guess I would use my recovery contact's help but I do not know know my Apple password as it's in my password manager so would I still be able to access my account through this way?

The user must set up at least one alternative recovery method—one or more recovery contacts or a recovery key—which they can use to recover their iCloud data if they lose access to their account.

You can set up both!

The recovery key is auto generated and they ask you to save and store it securely and/or print the pdf.
It's a key just like FileVault used to generate.

PS:
Nooo, don't tattoo the recovery key on your body! 😉
Better store it password encrypted on a external disk, and hand out to your parents.

You have to be a real thrillseeker to install a new iOS on day one these days.
It might depend on how many security fixes or bug fixes are included. I usually wait, unless the OS version I'm running is a problem.

Man, Apple must have some really beefy content delivery stuff in place to routinely post iOS and MacOS releases at exactly the same time. You'd think they'd staggar it a bit to level off peak demand, but no.

Lol, the HomePod update that goes along with this seems to say you can now ask Siri to set up automations for you.

“OK, I’ve set up an automation that will probably run about 40% of the time and ignore most of the conditions you specified.”

The one thing I want from Apple more than AR, VR, MR, iCar, and AirPower:

Fix the damn HomeKit disaster! My Philips Hue motion sensors are not working at all.

I can't even use my HomePods or any smart switches. It's not my network either, two friends who are both network engineers at different places looked at my network to make sure it's not any setting of mine. It happened ever since the HomeKit architecture update.

Awesome release. AppStore icon on the top disappeared and I cannot close the window by tapping with Apple Pen

Phone is updating now. Nice to see some updates coming. Hopefully this isn't the last release before 17 is introduced in June.

In an age where these devices allow me to empty my pockets more and more, it’s rather strange to be encouraged to add 1, even though small, thing back into it. In any event, I do like the potential security keys have, though waiting for a USB C iPhone seems like a requirement to not need multiple keys on you at any given time.

Was anyone successful updating their HomePods mini to 16.3? Is this even included in this release?
I have not been able to update my HomePods. I'm looking forward to getting the humidity sensors activated. If anyone has been able to update theirs, please let us know.

There are still graphical problems with notifications after waking up the phone. Notifications are rectangular, and only after a while do they become rounded

This is the most annoying bug and I don't understand why it still exists!

I'm surprised they don't make a week out of it. So Monday would be IOS. Tuesday would be Ipad OS, Wednesday would be TVos and so on. It's like Update week for the fruit company.
