Yes. The one time I recall it failing was with the iPad 2. Way back. it Would boot to Apple logo and that’s it. They had to be restored on the computer to fix it. We had of them and both failed.
I mean I do have it on but, I never give it a chance to do it on its own cause as soon as I know there's a new update released I just keep "refreshing" the settings thing 🤣🤣🤣

I installed the update and it bricked my phone after it restarted - the screen is totally unresponsive and after several hard reboots, nothing changed so attached it to my Mac and the phone was in DFU mode? So it's a reset for me....grrrr....BEWARE!

Another minor update. Interesting. Just wondering why Apple isn't using Rapid Security Responses to fix any of these bugs or vulnerabilities or whatever. Is that feature even there or is it gone for good?

Does it fix the iPhone's most absurd and embarrassing defect after 15 years: no audible NOTIFICATIONS OF MISSED CALLS?

Just got a notification that 17.2.1 update is out, even though I have auto update turned off, I have never received a notification before, they must really be pushing us to try to trick people into updating. I'll hold off for a while as bad as it is o_O

Has this update fixed the bug where at lock screen, if you swipe right to access widgets nothing happens? You then have to swipe up a little and then swipe right to access widgets.

You ain’t kidding. I made a list in the Reminders app of all our household Apple devices and check them off as I update (33 in total). Takes me a couple days to complete lol. Don’t like auto updates especially after HomePodOS 13 (I think) bricked so many of them.

Hopefully this update fixes the Find My Live Location feature. That’s probably the only iOS specific bug I’m experiencing right now… or at least the only one that’s annoying the crap out of me.
How so many? I have 4 counting AirPods. Counting all devices including out of date ones we have 9, that includes old Macs that aren’t in use.
33, that’s impressive.

What iPhone do you use?

Out of curiosity, how would you „fix“ that?
There’s a prompt on the Lock Screen and a badge to the phone app, personally I get a text notification that someone tried to contact me. When should the audible notification play? How do you miss a call on ringer but would notice the notification?

Considering all the reports of the update not fixing anything noticeable and perhaps even introducing new issues and bricking devices, I’m not sure if I should update ._.

15 Pro Max and I was up to date with the updates that came out I believe last week. The restore process has been relatively painless so far.
I had the exact same experience, up to date iPhone 15 Pro Max. Ran the update, non-responsive screen, not fixed by reboot and up/down/power reboots. Connected to the Mac and DFU mode was called out. Reset the phone back to 17.2.
