I heard it had to do with the dispute with Masimo re the blood oxygen sensor on the watch. I’m not updating.
I have an Apple Watch Series 8 and ran the update on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. There is no update for the Apple Watch, and I just checked my oxygen levels, and it works fine.

Out of curiosity, how would you „fix“ that? [notification of missed calls]
On my previous flip phone it would beep every couple of minutes until you opened the phone and pretended to look at the display. On my current one it blinks an LED (no beep, thank you for the peace and quiet) until you open the phone.

So it's doable. Preferably with the audible beep being optional. I miss lots of calls since I seldom take the phone with me when I go out.

When should the audible notification play? How do you miss a call on ringer but would notice the notification?
Please refer to the notifications that Apple did add, but only for texts (idiotically enough). The phone notification options should be exactly the same. In fact, the Phone options screen and the Messages options screen are essentially identical. The Phone one simply lacks the notifications options. The work is pretty much already done; it's sheer pettiness on Apple's part at this point that they refuse to do it.

Do you take your phone in the shower with you? Then that's a prime example of when you'd miss a call. How about when your phone is on the charger, and you go down the hall to do laundry? Or go outside to get a package that was delivered? Or, or, or... seriously man, I find it depressing that this has to be explained. Cell phones have had this essential feature for decades now. Not to mention a ******** of other devices. Doesn't your microwave beep occasionally if you forget to take the food out?

But Apple's handheld Unix-computer/phone can't notify you of missed calls. Pathetic.

How so many? I have 4 counting AirPods. Counting all devices including out of date ones we have 9, that includes old Macs that aren’t in use.
33, that’s impressive.
4 iPhones (my wife, me and two kids), 3 iPads (me and two kids), my Mac, 8 ATV’s, 2 Apple Watches, 8 HomePod Minis and 9 HomePod OGs. My math was off. Think I forgot about the two Apple Watches before. It’s actually 35, not including the four APP2’s since those don’t get the normal updates, I don’t include them in the Reminders list.

I’m a bit of an Apple ecosystem fan boy lol.

Surprised to see the update this year. Thought Apple was done with all the updates for the year.

Just updated my 13pro 256gb without any problems. Will see how it works throughout the day and if I notice any difference.
Will prob have around 100 pilot users at work that will scream if something if it isn't working.
I have no iPhone 15 users though, but most other models are covered.

I'm not expecting the infamous Windows Update to be this frequent, they usually release every 15 days, sometimes more. And in fact, WUs are much faster to install compared to macOS updates.

Well, 17.2.1 certainly feels snappier on my 15+. Also, I had a bit of stuttering on certain screens when opening certain pages and apps. That seems to have been fixed.

All-in-all, I'm pretty happy👍
still have some stutters, on 13 mini...especially for Control Center dragged on certain apps

If you are on 14.2, definitely update to 14.2.1 ASAP. This critical issue has been fixed:

8 Apple TV‘s  how many screens do you have, how much Ted Lasso do you watch at once? :D

I don’t think apple is petty, they just don’t care because they have and had more important things on their mind, like emojis or share play which are things everyone definitely cares about..
Yes I didn’t think about the reoccurring sound for a „missed“ message as I turned that off because I find it more distracting than anything else.
Thinking about it and having written a different reply, I think it’s up to the user to check if they have a new notification after say a shower, but briefly leaving the phone to go do something out of audible reach and basically being somewhat forced to check your phone in case you missed a call instead of it notifying you 2-4 minutes later can actually be quite cumbersome and I would lie to say I haven’t left my phone for a few minutes to come back and only realize I have a missed call after some time has passed.
I doubt it will make a difference but have you written to apple about this?
I mean, in their bubble you have an Apple Watch within the same wifi that’ll forward such notifications or an AOD (enabled) so they probably won’t care anymore about anyone not using their devices as they see fit, but it’s worth a try I guess.

I had been having significant connection issues since the previous update that seem to now be fixed with this release.

I was needing to flick between cellular and wifi or vice versa to get anything to load. Anyone else experience this?

I bought my 2017 car in the last month before the 2018 model came out. The models that came out earlier had some callbacks. My car has had no problems at all. This is how I deal with iOS updates. So I will stay with iOS 16 until iOS 18 approaches. Then I will update to iOS 17.
