same; didnt have service for alteast 5-10 mins and then all of sudden appear. Other thing noticed after update is that RCS is gone. In Settings, RCS is enabled but when I text to non-iphone users, it only shows Text Message - SMS (and not RCS like before). Tried multiple people. BTW I am on Verizon as well.

EDIT: after disabling RCS and enabling back from settings, bring that option back.
Ok good to know I'm not the only one. Yes my service returned a 5 min after. Never had that happen on an update.

Installed on my iPhone and iPad .. and nothing is bricked. As never was with iOS 18.

So yours is or do you love to read yellow press?
In the iOS 18 thread I reported Apple Devices bricking multiple devices, as did others who also attempted to update or restore via Apple Devices. Why are you trying to invalidate our own lived experience?

Wasn’t that for users who went to 17.7 before installing 18.0?

No, for one I was never on 17.7 on any of the devices I personally tried. One iPhone was already on the iOS 18 beta and could not be updated to the final. One of the iPads was already on ipad OS 18 final and couldn’t be restored to the same FW without failing. So it didn’t seem to matter which firmware you were coming from.

Sorry, but did not have any problems on my iPhone 16 Pro, Apple Watch 10 and iPad M1. Also not after installed a few moments ago to the latest 18.0.1.

How did you even connect an Apple Watch to Apple Devices?
The charging puck does not pass data over USB-C as far as I’m aware

Real talk, it seems like they fixed the RCS group chat issues also....all of a sudden it's working all smoothly...don't wanna jinx it

So two things that I found with this update

1)my battery was at 22% and it still let me perform the update. Used to need to be at 50% to process.

2)the 16PM is noticeably faster now. Changing apps and even loading them. It’s a legit difference.

Upgraded my 15 Pro Max and iPad Pro to 18.0.1. Both updated quickly. iPhone seems fine. Haven’t really used my iPad.

Yup…spoke too soon but seems to be working a little better than before. Before my messages would completely fail and always had to default to SMS….now it’s intermittent
Supposedly a lot of RCS problems may be due to the carrier's support or lack thereof for RCS
