As I suspected iPhone 17 WiFi speed has significantly improved on 26.1

I immediately tested the “tinted” version of Liquid Glass - I still think “reduce motion” in the accessibility settings is still the best way to reduce the glassy effects.

My guess is that Apple made it laggy so people in the Apple Stores would choose Pro over Regular….
I always get the pro-- it's just ungodly laggy. I didn't have time to make an appointment but I showed one of the staff at the store and he was like "yeah that's not supposed to be doing that---" and suggested hopefully an update would fix. My fingers are super crossed because this is such a pain in the butt.

Glad I wasn't alone on the phones feeling a bit warm during update-- it's still updating and the phone is getting so hot I had to put it on my lunchbox cooler pack 🥵

I just updated to ios 26.1 and just a heads up messages app is taking up tons of storage for no good reason when I have 0 texts in the app. Not sure why its saying its full when its not.

Anyone tried wired CarPlay with a 17 device yet? I'd like to consider that a fairly crucial fix/flaw since since it freezes and hangs consistently when driving requiring you to plug and unplug (sometimes) and other times a full vehicle restart to get it working again. I'm actually shocked this hasn't gotten more vocal press and publicity that carplay if you're wired is basically useless if you have a 17 device.
Only issue I’ve had with 26 is it won’t connect while locked, even though I have that enabled. Kind of annoying. I’m hoping this update fixes that. Will know later this afternoon.

I predict 26.1.1 will be out by friday
Everything is possible, or they will do what they did with 26.0.2 they skipped, nuke 26.1, skip 26.1.1 and jump to 26.2, with how things are going and Apple doing these odd update behaviours…

There better be some performance improvements, springboard is painfully slow (updating icons for web bookmarks).

So--- has anyone else updated their phone and it just hangs at the end of the progress bar with the apple logo? It's been like 20 minutes. Im getting nervous.
