Apple Releases iOS 4.2 Golden Master to Developers

Does anyone have a list of Airplay capable devices/apps that are currently usable with 4.2GM?
I don't have an AppleTV or Airport Express, so the Airplay icon doesnt even appear in my dock menu.
Also, where the heck is Apple keeping the instructions for setting up Airprint? All I can find on the dev site is for coding printing into your app, not actually how to set it up on their computer side.
I've already got iTunes 10.1b2 installed (which has zero reference to printing), and my printer is set up on my Macbook Pro (via my Airport Extreme), but the printer doesnt come up on my iPad print menu.

By "latest beta of Mac OS X 1.6.5" they really mean the build of 10.6.5 that they provided to iOS developers through the dev site, which is about 2 months old.
And yes, I have it installed.
well on the iPad at least, the orientation lock on software does landscape and portrait, was worried it would be portrait only like on iPhone

When will Apple allow you to attach something to an email? I can be in photos and select a photo to email it. Why can't I attach a photo after I've already started the email? Sometimes I'm writing an email and think "Hey! I should attach this photo!" or sometimes I want to attach more than one photo. I mean seriously... The functionality is there with other apps like Pages and Keynote. Why not Mail?

You can start your email then goto to photos app and go to the photo you want and hold down your finger until the "copy" icon pops up and then click it.
Then go back the email and paste it.

You're close. It's a hint at what a big deal Airplay is going to be. You can use that "page" of the multitasking bar to switch your Airplay source, at which point you might want to change the volume. In just screwing around to test it out earlier I started listening to my favorite radio show with TuneIn Radio through my Bluetooth. I then switched to Mail and then realized I was sitting next next to a set of speakers plugged into an Airport Express. Quick double-click, two swipes and I can choose my output source and adjust the volume to the new source (cool side note: Bluetooth devices, or at least my Jawbone Icon, show up in the Airplay menu). I could have done this through the app (every app I've checked so far has an Airplay icon and a volume slider right next to eachother), but that would have taken more steps. I can also easily imagine a time when I want to switch audio sources and am not sure which app I'm listening to (NPR app vs. listening to NPR on TuneIn for example). Granted, the volume slider is a little redundant since you can control the source's volume with the phone's volume buttons, but it is right there in the place that you're switching sources so it does make sense.

I have none of the issues you mentioned. The Remote App works great, the contacts app doesn't crash and animations work great.
No offence but i don't believe you. The Remote app issue is widespread on iTunes 10.1 beta
The contacts app bug is only apparent on iPhone 4. I can concede the animation bug however.

Is AirPlay only available with content purchased through iTunes? For instance, I have a home movie on my iPad, can I stream this to my Apple TV (when it is updated), or is content streaming restricted only to iTunes purchased content?
Yeah contacts crash isn't an issue for me either on iPhone 4. Animation and Remote app are.
what's the remote issue? mine seems ok on my iPhone 4, as does contacts and animations...
The Remote App doesnt work with itunes 10.1 beta. I have tested it and it doesn't work, but this has nothing to do with iOS 4.2 (apart from the fact that the new iOS version requires iTunes 10.1 to sync).

Any reason why this GM does not include this nice jail broke concept?
Could be there for both SMS and Emails possibly even with a counter like a blackberry.

we already have counters on the home screen, thats enough for me, and for SMS's i know how many texts and who from on the lock screen anyway. if i wanna know more, i just swipe and unlock with ease...
Missing the point
Missing the point my friend....I would like to see this info without having to swipe or ever have to go to the home screens...have visibility from any screen. The notifier bar is there....lets use it like we do for the stupid bluetooth icon!
