You're kidding me, right?

Downloaded the update. Update progress bar hangs at about 75% for about 30 minutes. Attempted several times and it stops at the same place. I've heard of it taking long...but is this too long? I read of enough bricking happening today to be proactive and schedule a genius bar appt for the morning. And then, sure enough, it looks like I'm bricked.

I'm going to leave it alone and maybe it will push through and work :) if not, I'll take it in and see what happens. I've had nothing but great experience with Apple...I wonder what they do in situations like this? Anyone had a similar experience with iOS 4.3 yet?

NO, not Lame. CDMA dude. Simply can't handle 4.3. :apple:

Has nothing to do with CDMA. They had to get the OLD phones working first which are more trouble than they bargained for, of course. 4.3 will show up soon for the NEW phones, but being that our version already does what most of 4.3 does no biggie.

Camera roll bug in iOS4.3?

Hi, just updated to 4.3 on my iPhone 4 and I guess I found a bug in Camera roll.
Wonder if anybody has come across this as well:
Open the photo app and go to camera roll, in the top right corner of the screen you have the 'share' option, in the bottom right corner of the screen you have the 'places' option. When you touch these two options simultaneously (accidentally in my case), you're stuck in the map view. All the options are grey...

Damn, they still haven't fixed how collections are displayed on iPod app. In iTunes the collection albums are displayed correctly under 'Collections' in Artists view, and those collection album artists are not listed in the Artists view. But in iPod app, all artists are listed in the Artists view, so if I add a collection which has 30 songs from different artists, all 30 artists are also added to my Artists view. Guess I have to give them feedback once again, like I have done after every update. How hard can it be to make those collection albums use the same iTunes logic in iPod app?

Downloading now, but what I'd really like is airprint that actually works without me needing a new printer, when my printer is less than a year old.

Yep, my iPhone 4 also exhibits the same behavior.

Also, where is the battery 'Usage' on iPad?

Am I the only one that noticed that, on the iPhone, you have to hold your finger on a link in safari for a short period of time to "click" it rather than just quickly tapping it as you would ANYTHING else in iOS to select it?

It's kind of annoying.

And for the record, I do not have this issue in atomic web browser for iPhone nor do I have it in atomic or safari for iPad.

No, not experiencing that. In my case just works the same as in 4.2...
(iPhone 4 16GB)

Looks like a solid update to me..

Just noticed the double vibrate for text messages when in silent now, and the ability to fix the alert volume level independently of the hard volume buttons. Neat.

Most pleased with the Airplay features, although still not paying video in Safari for some sites, just audio..hmm. Finally able to watch videos from the camera roll on my TV too - yay!

Home sharing was easy to set up, but is a bit messy to navigate once you're in it in iPod.

Safari is maybe a tiny bit quicker now - hard to tell though.

Roll on iOS 5.0 ;)

i loaded this on my ipad 3g, and found no hotspot, no multi gestures.
they claim safari speed, but i don´t use it for surfing, i use third apps
what´s really interesting on ios 4.3?
should i turn back to 4.2.1?

Erm.. unless there's actually something wrong, why would you roll back??

great, but

had a problem with it. Sharing buttons did not appear. Make backup before you install it to make sure. 'm in pain to sync all back to my ipod touch.

to be able to restore my cydia apps
i thought with this build i could live without jailbreak. cydia apps like mywi, quickdo,... are usefull
when i heard hotspot= mywi, multi gestures=quickdo, i thought i don't need cydia anymore, but...

2 ipads updated. 1 Ipod touch purchased March 2009 direct from Apple does not recognize the update. ???

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like 2nd gen not supported. WTF

ipod 4g updated in +/- 8 mins, no trouble. Not seeing the huge Safari boost some talk of, but the Home Sharing is indeed a great feature! :)

But you did try:
Error 1004 and 1013: This error may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being blocked, redirected, or interrupted. Adjust your hosts file or security software to ensure that connections to gs.apple.com are not blocked. If the issue persists, try restoring on another computer with a known-good connection. If this restore is successful, you will need to contact whoever supports your install of the operating system and security software installed on your computer for assistance. If your hosts file redirects requests to gs.apple.com, you may choose to follow Can't connect to the iTunes Store, in the "The 'hosts' file may be blocking the iTunes Store" section.

If you have cruft from Tiny Umbrella or something in there this will definitely happen.

Thanks to all that replied. I was able to fix my issue by upgrading from my Windows laptop instead of my MBP. Then I had to manually synch my apps, music, and videos again from my MBP. But I know I still need to fix this restore problem for future upgrades.

Looks like my iPad is bricked. I set it up to start last night before I went to sleep, and then woke up to find it stuck at 75%. I let it sit longer while I was getting ready for work, and still nothing. So I quit iTunes and started over, it found the iPad in recovery mode and started up the restore process. I should say that my iPad has hung up every time I've updated it, and I've done this and it worked. Now, however, it keeps sticking at about 95% complete for recovery.
Advice? Besides schedule a Genius bar appointment?
Thanks.

AT&T Rip off

Yes tethering is now available, but AT&T will not honor the unlimited plan and they will charge 3X as much for allowing tethering. Get this you can download 4gig of data to the iPhone for $15 but for the same amount of data to be tethered you have to pay $45. All for the convenience of tethering. AND don't be mistaken, you don't get 4gig for the phone AND 4gig for tethering; you only get a total of 4gig and they triple the price.

For those reporting their devices are bricked:

You can't download an older iOS version and flash that to your device? I thought you could force iDevices into a recovery mode for things like this.

The $15 AT&T data plan is for 200mb of data, not 4 gigs. The $25 plan is for 2 gigs of data. The $45 tethering plan is for 4 gigs of data... Last time I checked.
