Hmm tesco run on O2 but I dont have the option. Bugger

best thing to do is call tesco tomorrow to see if they will support it.

I'm sorry but I haven't noticed (hardly) any Airplay improvements yets. When I use the Lynda.com app it still just plays audio through Airplay..not video. Lame! One improvement I did notice was that if you select to play through the AppleTV then it seems to remember that preference when you switch apps.

Maybe they need to update their app to support Airplay video?

I cant seem to use Home Sharing to watch TV programs on my iphone.
Music and Films are fine.

Under preferences>Sharing my whole library is set as shared.

Any ideas?

I'm sure many are aware already, but I just found out that if you (or I) have an 8gb iPod Touch there is no chance that it is a 3rd or 4th gen, even though they were sold in the Apple Store soon after the release of the 3rd gens. Sad day!

Yea the Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPod_Touch) says that the third gen was only 16 or 32 GB. The older model was available for the next year at a discounted price.

Guess I wasn't paying attention before now: the Personal Hotspot function is only available for the iPhone 4?

Yes, the 3GS gets Bluetooth and USB tethering.
No Wifi.

Personal hotspot was not available yesterday for me in my General Options on my 3GS but is now an option but only via Bluetooth/USB so Hotspot is not just for iPhone4 and beyond but also 3GS.

This is a major boon for me as I was not expecting an unwired option to hotspot to the iPad.

Is this carrier specific? I have a verizon iphone 4 and no matter what i do it keeps telling me 4.2.6 is current.

found one little bug

i have noticed that my app store icon sometimes will now show as if I have 1 update on an application to download and when I tap to see what app it Is. it shows all apps are upto date. and then the little red icon showing an update is available vanishes. does anyone else get this issue?

all my issues have been solved from previous updates...safari on the ipod touch 4th gen is faster

Beware!!!

Well, it happened to me while applying the 4.x update... :(
If it happens again with this update, I'll be sooooo mad...

I might even switch to Android.... OK, maybe not.... But still, I'll be dargn mad...

OK, two times in two updates... If you manage your music manually, BEWARE that when iTunes says "Some purchased items has not been backup, do you want to proceed anyway?" (or something along those lines), it *will* erase all your music. At least, that's what happened to me... first with 4.0 and now with this update...:mad::mad:

(To be honest, when I saw that message, I did back up my books thinking they might be the culprits, but to do so, I add to hit the "Apply" button which nicely did sync all my stuff including my music, even if that was set to be managed manually. I say that they should really be more explicit by saying something like "If you change your sync setting and click "Apply" we will sync *everything* no matter what your settings are")

Has anyone else's text message vibration changed?

Mine now does two vibes instead of one.

I noticed this too. It's kind of annoying to me. I guess I'll get used to it.

Can anyone tell me what app to use in order to stream my iTunes library to my iPad ? I have looked in iPod app , remote and the video app. In remote I can see the library I want to use and can control that library but not watch it however in the other apps I can not see my iTunes library.

Thanks in advance

1st make sure home sharing is turned on in itunes....

then on iPad/ Pod go to Settings>iPod> fill in home sharing info.

on iPad iPod app tap library @ top of sidebar to choose iMac/iPad ect.

to watch video go to video app select a library to watch from :)

I have an iPad and iPhone 3GS, both on 4.3.
Someone else said with surity in one of these threads that with 4.3 the iPad can now tether over Bluetooth with the iPhone 3GS with the new hotspot feature, since 3GS does not have wifi connection ability. I am trying to figure this out though but while I can turn on 3GS hotspot service, in settings on iPad I haven't seen a similar feature allowing me to tether over Bluetooth anywhere.

Can someone please confirm if Bluetooth hotspot is available to work over iPad and 3GS or if the only way to tether iPad to iPhone is if you have iPhone 4 with wifi hotspot.

UPDATE FAIL!!! Updaters beware!

I have been trying to update my iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3 for the last 8 hours. After the update, iTunes gives the error "Unsupported SIM." I have been to the Apple store twice today (which is where I am typing this) and they are stumped. They have swapped out phones twice and installed a new AT&T SIM card with no appreciable results. Right now there are 4 Apple Geniuses working on the issue.

Yes that is my set up iPad and 3GS phone.

Both must be running 4.3 open personal hotspot on phone and enable making the phone discoverable. On iPad simply go to general Bluetooth and you should see your phone. Pair and away you go.

Work great for me and has just saved me a few $$$ on next iPad. No need for 3G version.

Cheers

i thought they said in the keynote last week that the ipod touch and iphone would get a photo booth app with the 4.3 update...

i'm not seeing that, or did i just mishear them ?

...Apple has just released iOS 4.3 to the public...

I keep getting a warning, "there are purchased items on the iPhone 'xxx's iPhone' that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating this iPhone..."

I've synced multiple times. How do i transfer those purchased items from the iPhone to the iTunes library?

Edit: I found the solution. In the >File> menu there's an option to transfer purchases to the iTunes library. Shazam!
