What happened to the battery % display next to the battery icon on the 4th gen iPod touch. Also, how much does the battery drain when downloading & installing the update?

I was just talking about how I cant wait for this an hour ago because my battery drains like there no tomorrow and I plug it in to charge and its there!

Hope this fixes my battery being at 20% by lunch time

I must be one of the few people who is experiencing issues . . .

I've restarted and tried a few times over the last 30 minutes . . . I guess I'll just keep trying.

Same here, except the error pops up when I try to install (it downloaded with no problems).

Who here has IN FACT been having battery troubles? Cause most of my friends that have the 4s say their battery life has been the same if not better than the 4.

Is it bad to do the update wired? Is it literally gonna put 800MB on your iphone or just what is necessary?

I am not sure what happens to the battery icon on the iPod Touch, but things looks fine on my iPhone 4. I started the update at 89% on my phone and it ended at 87% after the update while on battery. Not too taxing in my opinion.

Make sure you have enough free space for the install - at least 1 gig avail.

Thank you - I was sure I had like 2 GB free but turns out I had only 300 MB. I have a bunch of videos in my camera roll that I'm clearing out now. Will see if that works!

so odd, 4 devices and each one a different size. the 4s at 55mb, ipad2 at 34mb, i4 at 45mb and 3gs at 38mb... seems weird since it should update the same thing right?

For the OS update, wired is perfectly ok. It's not going to put 800MB of something 'extra' or uneeded on your phone.

Just sending the 'delta' or the change only over the air, is why it is only 50 or so MB.

Installing the OTA now on campus. This is so much better than having to download the old half-gig updates.
Yes but would it matter in your case, y'all have gigabit 3g in your parts practically....I would trade the file size of updates for the faster speed you get. (rendering the faster speed completely useless;))

Does the iPhone 4 and 3gs have any Siri functionality?

My 4s could not get me past 5:00pm without a charge. Battery life is nowhere close to what i would get on the ip4
